Does joining a lottery pool " increase" your chances of winning the top prize?
More individuals win because more individuals play.
I personally don't participate in a pool but it would be great for wheeling. It's irrelevant that you share the prize because the return to player over time is exactly the same, i.e. winning $200,000 for putting 1 ticket in the pool instead of $1,000,000 for playing 5 tickets alone. It's like playing in a raffle.
If you want to rely purely on luck like I do then how you play doesn't matter.....only that you play

More tickets equals more chances. It doesn't equal BETTER chances...does it? The odds don't change, so in my opinion lotto pools are for those that just want to share the jackpot for a smaller investment and payout. I'd rather cash in alone, and buy my co-workers lunch. If they want to pool anything, let's pool those pay checks with the executives.
Now if THEY win, then all of this is null/void. My lunch would be my foot, and theirs would be 5 star. So what the heck do you do?!

Every pool is hopeless. Playing the lottery is hopeless.
But hope triumphs over logic every time, and once in a very looooooong while it pays off.
May the luck fairy visit your pool next draw!

(Just For fun)- You part of a pool where one of the members decides...
That instead of contributing the usual $5.00 a person- he throws in $10.00. As luck would have it: you guys hit a $200 million jackpot...
Is he entitled to two bites of the Apple, does he get twice the share as everyone else?

According to my retailer there is a new national lottery game coming
That's what I read in an article (different magazine), but the rules do not explicitly say. It only says that every ticket played in the jackpot-winning drawing is eligible, and that a separate drawing will be conducted. Thinking about it logically, if they have 10 Club prizes to give away, then in order for them to give them all away they would have to choose from the pool of existing tickets rather than via genuine number picking. The rules do say that each ticket will be incremented with a un

Systems Do Work...
Even if all the LP members contributed a buck to a LP PB pool, we would get a not very good 0.04% chance of winning the jackpot, but we should get a few $100 winners.
I've watched the prediction board over the years where every member can contribute at least ten predictions for every game played in the US and I've never seen anyone match all the numbers in a jackpot game with jackpots exceeding $5M. There have been some 5of5 matches but those games jackpots seldom exceed $1M. There have been

Don't have any back in the day stories and hope it won't be necessary to correct the fallacy that poker players are playing against the casinos.

I don't pay much attention to the one a day MM thing, but if those members could pick all 5 numbers in one drawing, it's possible to wheel their predictions with $155,351.
I doubt it

LottteryPost players should start a LotteryPool?
There's already been plenty of controversy and aggravation among people who played in a pool all in the same physical location.
I played every drawing, they didn't ask me this time..... etc...ad nauseam.
To attempt a pool via the internet would be nothing but pure insanity.

For Fun: Your lottery pool just won, but the official ticket holder has gone missing. ..
This movie has been made before and the script is always the same.
Notify the lottery commission that the winning ticket was purchased for a pool of players and be prepared to follow up with documentation. If the documentation is solid then the right parties will received their just rewards.
If one is playing in a pool the possibility of this happening should always be a considered and prepared for.
