What does it all mean?
Item 1: I've posted a chart on my blog and on another thread here showing that all the lottery jackpots from everywhere won over the past 6 weeks or so were evidently drawn from a far smaller set than is generally supposed.... it's the same numbers repeated, with a few more thrown in over time, probably indicating some should be removed ....So..... the numbers with the potential for actually winning jackpots, one might conclude, include a set of approximately half of those bouncing around inside

New Game
One size fits all here. It's three different games, with three different prize pools. But they all share the same winning numbers and play slip. Each game and entry into one prize pool costs one dollar. Or enter all three pools with the same selection for $3. Pick 6 from 49.Big EasyFor the player who's wants to ditch the longshot and go for bigger smaller prizes. The Big Easy game gives more money to the Match 3, 4, and 5 winners. But should you win the jackpot in the Big Easy game, you get

question about new power and mega changes
I sort of agree with that thought, but the way I look at it, the job of the big multi-state games is not to make lots of people rich, it's to create enormous jackpots. In my opinion, the role of individual state Pick 6 lotto games is to make several people rich, not MM or PB. If a state is too small to consistently generate $1 million+ jackpots, then a few states should band together, and LOTTO South is the perfect example of that. This is also the reason that I firmly believe every state shoul

New Pb MM odds of winning
It currently takes approximately a run of 11 draws to get to $100,000,000.00 for both games without any wins. One of the things I m curious about with both games new odds is will it take longer to get to the $100M level of the games? I live in Florida so that is the minimum level for us to take a road trip. It s been my unscientific observation that both P.B. and MEGA don t seem to attract extreme attention until that level.I realize that both games are increasing the starting amounts after a ja

NY takes $5 million from lottery winners for child support, welfare
New York lottery officials announced Tuesday that the state has taken nearly $5 million from thousands of lottery jackpots before they were released to winners and applied the money to owed child-support payments or to recover a portion of welfare given to winners over the last decade. The move is part of the state's Lottery Intercept Program that has diverted nearly $10 million in winnings to child support, and more than $25 million in winnings toward public assistance since it was adopted in 1

Mega Millions to change lottery game's game and prize structure
Faster jackpot turnover does not mean smaller jackpots. When you add 25 million people to the mix the jackpot will simply climb faster and be won sooner hence more people becoming fabulously wealthy. Think about it... it will only take 7 draws to get the pot up to $100 Million instead of 10 draws to get it there. If you leave the odds alone you will get more winners, but roughly the same jackpot sizes. This is simple mathematics. Raising the odds to 175 million to 1 will generate obscene ja

mega millions and powerball jackpot poll
I gotta believe that they will settle for a 5 of 56 and a 1 of 56, they are so intent on making this the biggest thing since sliced bread. And in their greed to divide the $$$ that drive this beast! The paltry $10 mil. it starts at now for the mega is a joke, it should already be a min. of $15 mil....but hey..there are alot of states to divide this big pot up with and they all want their fair share. With Calif. joining it should be a min. of $20 - 25 mil. If you took all the states that basicall

Lotto South matrix
Quote: Originally posted by Tnplayer805 on April 19, 2005 It would be good for Jackpots to rise to $30 or even $40 million with this game. I hope more states join so that jackpots might start out at $3 million and rise about $2 or $3 million if no one wins. Lotto South is a great game and I love to play. I do agree KY,VA, and GA need to look at making it better. And other states around the south such as TN SC and LA need to look at lotto south as an option. (Really LA and SC need to look more in

Lotto South can be a giant
I think that would be a bad idea. Lotto South is currently in three states: Georgia, Kentucky and Virginia. Those three states already have giant jackpot games (Georgia: MegaMillions, Kentucky: PowerBall, Virginia: MegaMillions). There are MANY people in these 3 states who prefer 6/49 lottery games over all other types of games for a couple of reasons: They have reasonable jackpots and they have relatively reasonable odds of winning (compared to the huge jackpot games). There are basically 3

Powerball Lottery States Vote to Change Game
four4me is correct. As I have already stated in this post, last year the current Powerball odds produced 5 winners over $100million dollars and 2 of them were over $200million. What he did not point out is the fact that adding the state of California would not reduce the jackpot size, in fact it would simply cause the jackpot to grow that much faster. The only things that can reduce the jackpot sizes are 1) caps on the growth after a draw [I understand the current cap has never been broken]
