New York instant scratch off tickets - new tickets with less odds to win
Interesting point about the odds. I wonder if the NYS Lottery adjusts the ticket odds based on winnings? Do they lower or raise the odds after a ticket has been released a few weeks or months based on the prizes won or are the odds overall for the entire run of the ticket?

Should we boycott Mega Millions?
Obviously you're getting people odds, and state odds mixed up. Maybe they should do the odds of winning for each state, that would be the better way to do it. Say a state has a 1 out of certain number of odds to win MM or PB. It's not ignorance per se, or misunderstandings.

$400 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot soars
Ever since the Mega Millions odds went up from 176 million to 259 million to one, I refuse to buy one. As the odds stands now on the Mega Millions game, it's absolutely ridiculous. I'll stick to the PowerBall game for now, even though the odds are one in 176 million, at least a lot better odds than the Mega Millions game.

Setting a play budget and win target
Would depend on the odds of the game I won on. For example if the odds of winning are 1 in 1000 and I hit straight, I won't play again that day or I will only play $1. The probability of winning twice in a row with those odds is pretty low. Boxes have better odds but still, winning multiple times in a row is rare.

Tickets for updated Mega Millions game on sale Saturday
The odds for PB are about 1 in 175 million, almost exactly the same as MM was until a few hours ago. While the odds for PB might be better now, you have to spend twice as much money to get those odds. If you spend that for MM your odds will be about 1 in 130 million, which is significantly better than PB. Of course even with 2 tickets, your chances of scoring the 2nd place prize are still only 1 in 9 million, which is only slightly better than half as likely to win 2nd place in PB. The odds o

How Far Will The Mega Millions Go Before Odds Make It Impossible For Anyone?
The odds of winning the jackpot are increased to 1 in 258.9 million; however, odds of winning any prize will decrease to 1 in 14.71. Why increased the overall odd?

Post your scratch ticket results
I do not know what denomination each of these listed tickets are but the odds seem a little high. In Texas most any $5 and $10 ticket has well under 1:4 odds and $20 tickets have 1:2.2 or 1:2.3. Even some of our $1 and $2 tickets have under 1:4 odds, not sure I have ever seen any ticket in Texas as high as 1:4.8 and 1 to 4.9 area like I see on this print out. Regardless of the odds in Texas I still rarely ever win anything over $100 and often go way overboard buying them.

is anyone making an income from lottery
This sentence makes it clear that you don't intend to use logic, you're just here to argue with everything I say. You said you I'd give you 749 to 1 against you for any Pick 3 straight number anyday. Hell, I'd even give you 799 to 1. If you want to talk logic, what is logical about betting $799 to win $1? It is logical for a state lottery to give 500 to 1 to thousands of $1 bettors betting on 1000 different numbers. I see no logic behind putting up that much against one bettor. An Online

Has Anyone Ever Won by Buying Just One Line/One Ticket?
The odds of each ticket winning are exactly the same no matter how many you have. The odds on each flip of a coin never change no matter how many times heads comes up in a row. Every ticket has the same odds, you just have more chances to win. The odds don't change. By an unknown author.

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Did you really think 900 replies in a discussion of combinations with better odds could product a jackpot winner in a games with odds of 1:75M to win it? Has it ever happened in a discussion about a pick4 game with odds of 1:10K of winning the top prize or in a discussion about a pick5 game with odds of 1:100K-600K of winning its top prize?
