OT: Don't be fooled by tsunami aid e-mails
I think they can trick stupid people or people who just learn to surf the Net and don't know much about Net security.RedCross, Save the children and other organization don't send email asking for money or any other type of donation, only artist scam does.as Todd has mentioned, that link is hosted from tripod and email address is from another host, so, only stupid people can fall for it..and I don't think these bastards can collect any penny since people are smart ..lolall donation organizatons h

phony lottery winning emails
Scam. Big scam. The key is that you never entered their lottery . Lottery scams either ask you for your bank account number or ask that you either prepay the taxes (to them) or pay an expensive processing fee . Stay away from this.

I need a HELP with Valencia Lottery !!
Scam for sure, I get such e-mails at least twice a week. Run away, it is a scam, do not reply just delete it and continue your life. Real lotteries never use e-mails to contact you and more important, they never give money if you don't have a winning ticket in YOUR hands, which you have paid for of course. Do you know anyone that gives money for nothing? lol

El gordo lotto
Playing at the site advertised on the left is not a scam. Getting an e-mail saying you won El Gordo without ever buying a ticket is a scam. Pretty simple.

Does anyone know this lottery?
it sounds like a scam to me,lottery's usually don't ask for money. i would check with a reputable/known lottery and ask or ask todd,if he is on,you can pm him. i heard that most lottery's that ask for money are a scam.i would check before i send them anything.i remember reading somewhere, can't remember where, that they dont ask for money.

Texas Lottery Swindler To Appear In Court
Doc,Maybe she scammed someone else and thought it was real. I've read there is a scam going around in Texas where a couple of dumb acting scammers with a fake winning lottery ticket will let anyone scam them out of it for a few dollars. The scammers get their money and leave and the other persons don't know the ticket is a fake until they try to cash it.RJOh

Woman loses $2,800 in lottery scam
This pigeon drop scam is described at http://www.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2004/2/24/92635.shtml. I read of a bigger loss in Toronto, Canada recently. It seems this scam is effective anywhere by exploiting not only people's greed, but people's willingness to help.

Man loses $41,000 in sweepstakes scam
The obvious thing that it was a scam was he had to send them money. You don't send money if you won a Lottery Jackpot you only spend money on the tickets.Even if you win a Car or House in a Sweepstakes I think you only pay taxes on it but you verify everything first to make sure it's not a scam. When I get letters like that in the mail I send them a letter saying *SS HOLE in nice big letters.

Lottery scam takes in pair
Two people duped elderly shoppers with an offer that seemed too good to be true. Turns out it was.Gloria and Hector Ortiz were shopping at a Publix in Weston when a woman approached them with what seemed like a way to make some fast money. She told the two 82-year-olds she was in the country illegally from Costa Rica, and asked them to cash a winning lottery ticket worth $130,000.Then, she asked the couple for a deposit of $15,000 that she would give back -- along with a share of the winnings --
