Claiming Jackpot using Middle/last name??
You may have to sign your full name and valid Home Address when you claim any Jackpot amount or prize. I am not for sure, but I would think you do since you have to show your drivers license.According to the Michigan Online Lottery Web SiteDo I Have to Release My Name to the Public? Answer: In 1988, the Michigan Legislature enacted Public Act 243 which gives winners of prizes greater than $10,000 the right to remain anonymous. However, Mega Millions winners are exempt from this act. The name

keep your name private?

I can't speak for all states, but here in Pennsylvania, the following information is PUBLIC domain...Winner's Name : Winner's Home Town : Game Won : Amount Won : Date WonPhotos and interviews are optional, not mandatory...by forming a trust, you can replace the Winner's Name with the Trust's name, hence retaining anonymity... I checked with the PA lottery commission and they are O.K. with that.I am almost cer

Winners wish they'd lain low
Anonymous veteran millionaires share drawbacks of hitting jackpotTalk to former lottery winners and they agree -- the biggest mistake Mega Millions jackpot winner Rebecca Jemison made this week was coming forward herself to claim her winnings. She's going to be hounded, said an Akron-area man who won $8 million about a decade ago.It seems keeping a low profile, if that's possible when the paparazzi are on your tail, is vitally important when you realize that the little piece of paper stuck betw

$315M Lottery Winner Shuns Attention
There are ways to remain anonymous, JW was already a millionaire and should have known them. I would take the time... been without millions this long... and ensure that the anonymity was in place. Not for myself, but for the safety of the family. Making winner personal info public domain is a bad thing, regardless of their reasoning... and the press is as much to blame as the lotteries, why is is that a sudden winfall is even newsworthy in the first place? Surely there must be something more int

every terminal in PA is connected to the central office. Michigan woman wins $1 million in lottery
A Willis, Michigan woman is probably considering herself one lucky person. The anonymous winner recently scratched off a Michigan Lottery $1,000,000 Player instant ticket to reveal a $1,000,00 prize. She purchased the winning ticket at Macs on Whittaker Road. When I scratched off the ticket, I thought my eyes must be playing tricks on me, she said. I just kept staring at the ticket in disbelief. I couldnt believe I had won until after I called Michigan Lottery headquarters and they verified I

The online lotto tickets
Todd, I agree with your about buying ticket from playlot.com for Powerball. No state tax is really nice and the anonymity is awesome. But what about megamillions? their other site www.megamillions.com uses Maryland for buying their tickets. A state with the highest state tax from any of the megamillions states and I dont think they let you be anonymous. I will still buy tickets using megamillions.com because I dont live in a megamillion state, but I'm not happy about the fact that they buy t

The online lotto tickets
ToddI read the frequently asked questions, and it said that it's everything is legal and safe since the tickets are bought from a lottery retailer and the tickets don't cross state borders. So it seems legit and the way to go, especially in this information age. You said in an old post that someone won the Florida lotto on this. I just have only two questions left: #1. How come everyone else isn't doing this, especially since Delaware allows Powerball winners to remain anonymous? and #2.

10 Million What Would You Do?
hypersonig and visiondudeAbout the trust. One of the winners from New Hampshire formed a trust to claim his/her share. One winner from February formed a LLC to claim his/her share. But isn't the trust like a foundation or a corporation, such as an LLC? Would you really have as much control with a trust as you would if you just had taken the cash and run, placing the money in treasury bonds or investment accounts under your name? Can you really trust any lawyer that strongly????? Don't ge

If you won Saturday's Powerball jackpot
The last time a Powerball grand prize was claimed was in New Hampshire about a month ago. A father and daughter from New Hampshire and a family in Massachusettts claimed the prize. The father and daughter from N.H. went public, but the family from Massachusetts claimed its share in trust (they sent their lawyer to claim the share on their behalf). The trust can ensure anonymity, but there are different types of trust. Of course, setting up the trust is the ONLY solution to remain anonymous
