Kentucky Cash Ball player wins 5 jackpots totaling $1 million
Santa Claus arrived two days late for a lucky someone who stopped by the Thorntons store at 5318 Preston Highway on Monday and paid $5 for five plays on the Kentucky Lottery's Cash Ball.In what lottery officials described as a relatively unusual maneuver, the person picked the same numbers on all five plays: 11, 14, 21, 24 and, for the Cash Ball, 22.Those five numbers were drawn Monday night, earning the lucky player a whopping $1 million from the five $200,000 top Cash Ball prizes. The odds of m

Some information about Powerball
Lottomike powerball and megamillions was initially set up because the people in America wanted a game who's jackpots would grow from draw to draw. So they put it together. After some time the people complained that the pots weren't big enough so they changed the game to favor bigger pots by changing the game (added more balls) the odds were also increased. The people were satisfied once again that the pots were growing. As the popularity of the games grew so did the amount of players. So in fact

Powerball sets a new record
The number of states has no direct bearing on the odds of winning PB/MM, which I think is the main issue. There are what...26 or 27 states/districts in PB (this argument correlates to MM also). How large are the rollovers now? In the beginning, maybe $8 or 9 million each draw, right? As the jackpot rises to $100-$200 million we start seeing rollovers of $15 or 25 million, so the pot increases at a much faster rate. Now, for arguments sake, let's say we had twice as many states in one lottery.

Euro Millions lottery expands to six new countries
Let me first say I don't necessarily like the idea of one big global lottery game.On the issue of hurting smaller countries, I actually see it the other way around. I think a big lottery helps smaller jurisdictions a great deal.Take the United States for example. Powerball has a ton of smaller states, and they are helped greatly by that big jackpot game. The main reason is that they would never be able to generate huge jackpots on their own, and huge jackpots are what fuel insane ticket-buyin

America needs a National Lottery!
A government that can give everything to you can take everything away. We don't need another lottery. The track record of state lottery organizations has been miserable. Why take this greed and corruption to a higher level? The state lottery organizations start out with good intentions and slowly but surely run the whole thing into the ground seeking higher profits. Here in Texas the TLC was supposed to spend the proceeds on education, but it goes into the general fund. They claim the procee

What will happen when they get too big
Quote: Originally posted by JimmySand9 on August 09, 2004Jackpot have reached over $300 million dollars over the the past few years. And lotteries are making the odds longer and longer to get these jackpots to grow bigger and bigger. The question is, when will the odds become too long? When will players find a game and just say Nobody can win this! and just not play. When will jackpots hit such high levels that chaos will break out?People managed to win the PA 6/69 game and that really stunk.
