Lottery scratch games still being sold after jackpots are gone
Here in GA, it took an investigation by WAGA Fox 5's I-Team for the GA Lottery to start posting a list of how many grand prizes are left for each available game (available as in deliverable to retailers).
I've actually emailed the GA Lottery asking them to do like South Carolina does, which is post complete odds, methods of winning prizes (e.g. on $1 Junior Jumbo Bucks in GA, a $25 winner can be obtained by Jumbo $5 and Jumbo $3 + $10), and number of prizes available for ALL tiers of prizes,

New site updates
I just finished installing a new site update. I'm trying to push out updates more frequently in order to get the changes out into everyone's hands sooner, rather than building them up and releasing them all at once.
This update has some neat new features and fixes. As always, you may notice some small things here and there as you navigate around the site.
This update includes:
Visual interface improvements to the rating controls Performace improvements Bug fixes A new Preview feature i

Lottery winner demonstrates the right way to claim a big jackpot
If I choose to respond to a post I simply give it the response I think it deserves. I didn't see that you said anything useful about legal entities in this thread, but you felt it necessary to whine when appreciation was expressed for somebody else's answers. I thought your whining deserved a response.
If you think my comment was genius, then you obviously see some difference. I thought it was a relatively simple assumption, which means I could be completely wrong*, but thanks, anyway.

buying lottery tickets
Last night a lottery clerk told me they don't have to clear the screen to run play slips and the machine beeps when its ready to accept another play slip. She said the other clerk probably had her other hand on the touch screen when she ran my play slips and I think the other clerk was leaning on the machine. It makes more sense to me that screen was dirty and she accidentally added multi draws and multi QPs to what was on the play slip. When Scary Chick was told the machine had been acting up a

Went public too soon?
I would have chosen to claim the funds under a trust and would have told the lottery officials that they are not to use my likeness (display any photo of me, or make any video and post it on the news, or internet, etc...) and they are not to release any of my information...
Maybe they saw Forbes's list of 1065 Billionaires and figured if the richest people in the World can't remain anonymous, why bother. Had they read the consensus in most how to play lottery books, they would have never pl

List of States Which Allow Anonymous Winners
South Carolina (PB) is a yes....they won't release any info
Virginia (MM) is a no.....they jackpot has to be claimed in the name of a person only. Some guy won a few million ?some? years ago and claimed in the name of a LLC and the big wigs were very upset and immediatly got together and changed the law.
Georgia (MM) will allow you to claim in the name of a LLC.
Texas (MM) will allow trusts LLC to protect privacy but their version of minimum publicity is probably sufficient enough.

Re: Powerball & Mega Millions
Press releases, for one.
I know some states say that the back of the ticket, which must be signed to collect a jackpot, is an agreement to a press release, but what if a person from a state that lets you remain anonymous wins in a state that doesn't.
So, the non-anonymous state releases the story to the newspapers in that state - the papaers on the person's home state pick up the story on a wire service- but, according to the rules of the home state, they wanted to remain anonymous.

Local Winners
Last night my regular gas station where I usually fill up sold a winning Fantasy 5 ticket. It was quick pick. I admit that I bought my Lotto tickets at Albertson's Wedneday evening, but for some reason I couldn't make up my mind what I wanted for dinner. So I drove to Taco Bell which is directly across the street from the Mobil station. I glanced over and then said Nah, I already spent $4 tonight. I am already way over my monthly budget.
When I saw the news release today, I said OMG
