Record powerball lottery winner reflects on sad life
After reading this article, http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A36338-2005Jan25.html, it seemed that this man had become very arrogance after hitting the power jackpot. His problems were mostly consequenced from giving excessive allowances to his granddaughter, $5000 a day. Therefore she attracted peers that liked her money more than her life quality. He was the one to blame for her death by providing a massive resource to her drug habits, money. This windfall can be consid

'Idiot' claims big lottery prize
Ed O'Neill's bank account just got a lot bigger, thanks to a co-worker who told him some idiot hasn't claimed an $800,000 Powerball lottery prize. O'Neill, 58, who works for the Clinton Chamber of Commerce, bought the ticket for a Jan. 6 Powerball drawing. He told Iowa Lottery staffers he didn't think to check the results until a couple days afterward when a chamber receptionist pointed out an article in the local newspaper. She said, 'Read this article about the idiot that hasn't claim

Whittaker sued by casino over bad checks
justxploring wrote: The Salvation Army will not accept charitable donations if the person won the money gambling. I read elsewhere that that was a local decision, and that the same decison might not be reached elsewhere. I can't say how accurate that statement is, as I don't recall the source now. But realistically, unless someone makes a big thing of it in a news conference, most organizations aren't going to check on what the source of all their large donations is. Therefore, no doub

Take time for instance, we know that time exists and passes but as to what reference? Time to us is no more than a point of reference created by man ba

Killer said lottery cheated
Hi Everyone, Great comments, thanks everyone! I think the poor man (Beck) felt threatened and got pushed into the corner and I have no doubt that he was told to shut his mouth or else! And I think he turned that or else around on them. He did expose some things about the lottery and of course the lottery officials would not be amused! Was he really upset about the job position or again was he just trying to expose the lottery for the rats they are because he wan

Powerball Back-to-Back Jackpots Set Record
Sure, the truth is out there, but what's your point? Simply having that queston in the FAQ proves that Uncle Jim is right about how many people are clueless. Where have you ever seen the FAQ other than on the website? How much was spent last year promoting the jackpot with the anuity amount and how much was spent on promoting the FAQ and the truth? The thing that PB officials are best at is promoting their game, and they apparently have no shame about how they do it, and that's Uncle Jim's

Powerball drawing produces huge number of big winners, including two who split the jackpot
It's interesting that states may have to put some thought in how they arrange numbers on their play slips to eliminate pattern selections if they don't have in place rules protecting themselves with parimutuel payouts for large payouts. I kind of remember Texas All or Nothing https://www.lotterypost.com/news/262005 having similar issues where they needed to add parimutuel to the rules for large payouts. Even though the article does not mention it I believe their play slips allowed you to sel

Powerball drawing produces huge number of big winners, including two who split the jackpot
Mentioning a conspiracy while claiming no conspiracy is just pure irony. If you'd spent enough time on the website you'd have seen dozens of them every time jackpot gets big. Just recently with someone claiming all the jackpots coming from one county in Michigan. I agree with you on one thing. There has never been so many second tier winners on a small jackpot. And if you'd read the article you'd understand the reason behind it. It's the way the playslips are for a lot of the states.

$110,000 Michigan Lottery Fantasy 5 Double Play winner has one month left to claim
Why? Do you think they collect the winnings personally? It says in the article that unclaimed prizes goes to the public schools. I think that unclaimed prizes should be returned to the players (a bonus drawing or something). But it's the state, so of course they keep it.
