I went back on my word and broke down and brought one ticket about 11 hours before the drawing. That number was 238313 which did not win a thing. What I don't understand is how the MSLA can release numbers like...625,000 tickets sold, when at 12:15 on the day of the drawing, they had sold under 239,000 tickets. Anyway, the tickets are too expensive at $20.00 a pop. I will not participate in the raffle style drawings again. I brought 4 tickets with the first drawing in january and won nothing

Viceroy, In response to your post. Common sense prevails here. In the state of Oregon the release of your full name and the place were you bought the winning ticket is released to the public. You will be initially taxed 25% federally and 8% for the state of Oregon on Megabucks or Powerball prizes in excess of $600. But that is not your final tax obligation to the departments of revenue for your state and federal government. I am sure a tax adviser or tax attorney could help you with this

There's a post here on the board about someone in Oklahoma who won a few months ago (Powerball?) and remained anonymous. That's something I think about a lot, which is why I tend to be tight-lipped about these things.
