Just my two cents...mega only if it's WAY up there and then minimal. NEVER the Powerball without the power play. Adjust the number of tickets purchased to include the extra buck. I have a group lottery that I will not join because of no power play. It makes no sense to me and I'm better off on my own.

Persistent Kentucky man wins $150,000 Powerball lottery prize: "It's just a dollar."
It does sound good to alway add the $1 for power play but it does add up. If one is constantly buying more than one ticket. Each of those extra dollars can go toward buying more tickets. This is why I don't add power play.

I find your perspective interesting because it is completely opposite to mine.
I like the pool I joined because they do not play power play for the Powerball game. Since the pool is going to divide the winnings among all the members of the pool, I want the pool to only spend money on the largest prize possible.
It is different for Mega Millions. We do not have a choice. The multiplier is built in.
Why do you want the power play included in the pool?

I don't play either one very often but when I do I always got the Mega Plier or Power Play. Like you said, you hit 5 numbers for $1M and you could have won $2-5 million instead but you were like, I didn't want to spend the extra buck ... And now you're like What was I thinking?

Loyal lottery player is a huge Power Play fan, and for a good reason

A Kentucky man who consistently adds the Power Play option to his Powerball lottery tickets has become a first-hand witness to the benefits of the add-on after winning a $150,000 prize.
One Kentucky lottery player will not buy his Powerball tickets without the Power Play option, and now he has a track record to demonstrate why.

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
I won $20 on the Saturday PB draw. That feels good and am thankful I had power play on it.

Once in a blue moon powerball X10
When I add the power play, I almost always expect a X2, as such I never look at it.

With or without power play?
Not sure how much $$$$ I am gonna shell out but I'll be buying at least 7 tickets with power play. Now if I were more civilized I'd simply purchase one ticket but, hey I'm ShagE3 right?
