All Gambling operators' eyes on BETonSPORTS hearing
Forth Worth, Texas, is the center of attention for the entire online gambling world today. Operators, executives, investors, financial advisors anxiously wait the outcome of David Carruthers' detention hearing which will take place this morning in Forth Worth.
The DoJ wants David Carruthers to be extradited to Missouri. The DoJ is also requesting Mr. Carruthers to be denied bail. Carruthers was taken into custody by federal agents last Sunday in Dallas.
The British media alleged that the F

Arrest Made in Crackdown on Internet Betting
Ostensibly the law is to protect us from terrorists, but as with nearly every law ever passed, the government has expanded it to do what they want.
Yes...that is the truth...so much for our privacies.
Anyway, going back to the statement I made, perhaps I didn't phrase it properly. My point was that the buffoon should know better. The DoJ has made it clear that they will arrest operators of offshore gambling establishments which target the U.S. as their customer base. They did this well b

Arrest Made in Crackdown on Internet Betting
Why should he know better? He runs a perfectly legal company that is in a foreign country and conducts their business outside of US jurisdiction.
Nobody needed to leak his itinerary. If you fly in, or over, the US the government knows about it because the airlines are required to provide them with passenger lists. When the DoJ decided to arrest him they simply started watching for his name to pop up on a manifest for a flight landing in the US. Ostensibly the law is to protect us from terr

convicted felons and lottery winnings
Quote: Originally posted by bellyache on July 1, 2006 People may disagree with me but I beleive if you have served your time and you are free you should be able to collect lottery winnings. Why not? If they are still allowed to put a dollar in then they should be able to collect if they win. If people don't want convicted felons to play make it a law that they can't legally purchase tickets and collect winnings.
I didn't respond at first because I wasn't sure if the question refers to peo

Online Lottery Soon to be Illegal/new law
If its already illegal then people who already won and had money placed in their bank accounts could still be arrested in the future at some date. And even if a person reports their winnings for tax purposes, wouldnt that be like admitting that you broke the law by even playing the online casino lotteries? That would be like turning yourself in for breaking the law. They might round everybody up later I'm sure they keep tabs. All I wanna know is how much time do we have left before its over,

Man charged with forging lottery ticket claims it was a joke
RJOh, you just reminded me of an episode on The Practice a few years ago. A businessman who was a law abiding taxpayer and didn't even have a traffic violation was at a hotel bar and a beautiful woman flirted with him. When he was on the witness stand he was furious that he had been charged, since he had been minding his own business and was tempted by this undercover cop. He became very interested in this woman and they had a drink together. He said he was a little hurt and disappointed when he

Woman found guilty of stealing winning lottery ticket
awesomo2000> Read my other posts in the thread discussing yesterday's articles...I did. Previous to the verdict. I will grant you she was/is stupid/dumb. But I stand by my previous statement. I would find her not guilty - since the crime of actually stealing the money never happened. No matter what reason is used for the disappearance of the ticket - stolen/lost - it was nothing but a piece of paper. I don't think people should end up with a criminal record over a piece of paper. The P

Pa. Man Charged With Redeeming Forged Winning Lottery Ticket
GameGrl, I don't need to do anything of the sort! But I do think you need to know the definition of the word Forged is though! There is nothing to even speculate or debate about what the word forged means! The word it self explains it's self! Unless you have no common sense or you are choosing not to use any part of the education you may have received earlier in life! There is nothing amusing (directly or indirectly) about anything being forged! The point that has already been made that the Lott

Four accused in Florida lottery ticket fraud
Stuart Elvia Urieta had heard about scheme in which someone claims to be an undocumented immigrant who needs an American citizen -- and money to cash a winning lottery ticket. So the 13-year Stuart resident was suspicious when a woman asked her for $29,000 to cash a ticket reportedly worth $325 million last weekend.Urieta called authorities, who on Tuesday announced a rare arrest in one of the common lottery frauds. You know you can never find these people because they come and go so quick, said
