Indiana man wins $5M on scratch-off
No, RedStang, the article alluded that top prize lottery scratch winner, Ricky, is accustomed to treating himself well. Recall that the article indicated that Ricky had recently purchased a: $20 scratch off ticket(s), new truck, AND enjoyed taking his grand-niece out to purchase a new outfit for her.
So, Ricky already knows how to have a good time spending monies, yet hopefully without breaking his budget. Now he's got a bigger budget, so he can easily remain unemployed, become a good invest

How much do you have to win in order to be...
When it comes to people saying that money can't make someone happy I say give me some millions and let me prove you wrong . I don't care what info they bring to the table whether it's studies, facts or random opinions. Millions plus me equals happy.
As for the amount I would need to be content... having $10 million after all taxes would be perfect.
And not sure about that article saying every rich person will always try to outdo their rich friends. I know some rich people and they are

How many pre-test draws are normal?
That's another problem I forgot to address. Tube rotation.
I wish I had the article from the Daily News in N.Y. when I lived there. The issue in the article pertained to a question posed by a reader asking about tube rotations and why they decided to stop showing the new configuration of the tubes for the next drawing. There was a time when they would show the public what tubes were being used and what position, and then one day they decided to stop publishing that info. When asked why, a lot

Most lottery players never see big payoff
Thank you Todd for posting this article. I doubt if it will change any attitudes here, but maybe somebody will wake up and smell the coffee and realize the lottery is a shot at a big win, but far from a guarantee. I read so many posts here that say I know I'll win the PB and the chances are so slim. I often think I'm going to win too, even after 30 years. I still hope I do someday, but I realize it might never happen.
I'm glad I continued reading the entire article, because at first it s

unique system
I read about this and wrote a program that simulated their system. I'm not sure if they won anything regularly, but I think they simply got lucky when they hit the jackpot. The problem with this system is that it does not allow you to use the same number on different lines.

Sex offender wins $14 million Florida Lotto jackpot
I live in Florida. This is an article in my local paper. I'm not making excuses for this idiot, and he certainly has led a life of crime, but he isn't the child rapist/murderer that Couey or many of the others are. I just don't understand why he keeps getting such light sentences. I guess our jails are too crowded (with 21 year old rape victims) Exposing oneself to children is sick, but he could have been high on drugs. Again, no excuses. But I haven't read anything here that says he physi

LP readers, read this online article
I was just curious about the topic of anonymity, and I came across this article
http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/06049/657569.stm
Only three states allow winners to be completely anonymous under ALL circumstances whatsoever (Delaware, North Dakota, and Kansas). Some other states will allow it, but only if you have an attorney claim the prize or until a Freedom of Information Act is requested. If you find any other articles about this topic, let me know.
