Help organizing a work pool and forming a contract
I'd personally have each drawing as a competely different pool, each standing on its own merit to prevent ties to any other drawings in the event someone drops out.

Jack Whittaker: un-luckiest lottery winner ever
If this story is not enough to convince people to stay away from the media spotlight in the event of a jackpot win, then I don't know what is.

CA Fantasy-5 Crazy Numbers Tonight
They (OH CA, and others) may look about the same. Somehow I don't think the 5 balls in the hopper will generate the rare event that 4 numbers will repeat from anywhere w/in the last 10 draws or the extremely rare event such as 11/15/00 and 11/25/00 where all 5 numbers repeated-- same 5 #'s for both dates (for CA F5); and on 11/25/00 28 people (or tickets) split the match 5/5 top prize. Anyone across the US can go to the official CALottery website and download the entire dataset in text fo

Pick 3 & the Two-Digit Return
The overall chance for any two digits to repeat into the next game is 12.961% Since this figure is the truest probability of the event to occur, we should see it happen right around 12.961% of the time. In Ohio, this event has transpired exactly 1,404 times within its 10,626 consecutive game history. This is 13.21%, which is very close to where it s supposed to be! YOUR WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY With a chance so close to 13%, you might be tempted to start looking for average skip

Heads/Tails /probablity
The Multiplication Rule for Independent Events (also available on Win d's Blog) The Multiplication Rule for Independent Events states that if several events, A1, A2, ..., An, are independent, then P(A1 A2 ... An) = P(A1) * P(A2) * ... * P(An). What does this mean? 50/50 Heads or Tails Applied to coins, A1 can be the event of getting a heads on the first flip of the coin. A2 is the event of getting

Odds 101
I figured that was what prompted this thread, but I didn't see anyone saying odds and combinations are different things. There was plenty of confusion about how to figure out the probability for any given number of combinations, and confusion about the technical difference between odds and probability. As near as I can tell, though, everybody but you was talking about the odds (or probability) of an event happening, not the odds somebody will give you for paying out if that event occurs. That's

In the event I'm banned from this site for whatever reason, I'd rather have a non-associated site which will not be deleted beyond my control.

Powerball/NC
cashonly, I'm not getting into some long heated debate over this. It's been done on here before. But if you think for one second I would believe it is a ball drawn event and someone in North Carolina won on it's debut week into powerball, you are wrong. I'm not buying it. That's a no-brainer. and why not a ball drawn event being rigged? c'mon. It's been done before.
