It now appears certain that Megamillions will go 6 months...
True enough.
If one plays by expectation value - and I very much doubt that many people do - Powerball can be a better bet. But, of course, the Powerball annuity jackpot needs to be more than twice as large (annuity) for that to happen.
(Recall that the expectation value is the likely prize - adjusted for the probability of there being more than one winner - divided by the odds times the cost of the ticket.)
What Powerball can almost never do - unless it goes to a billion dollars annuit

Christians against lottery and gambling
I am a Christian of non-denominational variety. I have also been a part (briefly) of a fundamental Bible cult (got in, got out in less than 4 months because I didn't like what they were preaching about money and dating). Pastors of many of the churches I have attended have preached that gambling and the lottery are sinful acts, but when I ask where in the Bible does it say that, they point to scriptures talking about the good of earning wages or the ones about the prodigal son. But some would ac

Do some number combinations have better odds?
By saying that I'm guessing about my odds, you're implying that the game isn't a completely random event.
The odds you're quoting are the average, but you already showed the odds or probability should deviate from the average. If you know there should be deviation, you should know you're guessing.
So EITHER I'm guessing about my odds (because the game isn't completely random), OR I know them (because the game is.)
The results of the random events showed the expected deviation from a

Do some number combinations have better odds?
First of all, I believe you are mistaken about Boney526's 80% ROI. I seem to recall him mentioning 80% within the context of a reference to the fact that Kentucky had a bad month in their Pick-3 game when they had to pay out 80 cents for each dollar they took in, when their normal payout schedule results in 60 cents. This represents a 33% (80/60) above the norm payout for them, which is completely within what can be expected from randomness. I would guess it's probably somewhere around the 3rd s

Do some number combinations have better odds?
You seem not to understand that probability theory isn't simply it will happen x out of y times. It's closer to it should happen X our of Y times with Z standard deviation. And therefore, anything is possible, but certain things are more probable.
Of course you can go back and find a froup of 28 numbers which won the last 7 drawings. I'm willing to bet you can't list 28 numbers which win the NEXT 7 drawings. There's no such thing as blowing away the odds because every single possible eve

Take5 NY
Whew! We're at the maximum number of times that I observed when I looked back at T5's history. I scrolled back to drawings held 7 years ago in 2005, and it took me quite a while to do that. While I was doing it, I noticed that every time the consecutive string of drawings broke, it was always with just 1 number from the missing range of 5 numbers. For no good reason, I was inclined to believe that the string would break with at least 2 numbers from the missing range, but that's not the case. Sor

Need help urgently with a dream
Early this morning i dreamt about my friend who was buried last week. She was 62 at the time of her death. In the dream she was urging me to get
ready for an event. She was telling me to hurry up and put on my stockings (on the day of her funeral I had problems putting on my stockings).
In the dream my friend's mother (died at 91) and her close friend (dead/ age unknown) was also with her. All of the ladies died this year and in the
dream they were all very beautiful and smiling. My f

Is it Cheating??
Here my advice Mr-Smith if you figure that theory on how to win consistently:
1. Do not tell ANYBODY! event your wife- just bring the money home.
2. Fill up your banc account.
3. Do not claim all the time your winnings by yourself, have your wife, friends and other family members help you claim your winning sometimes.
4. do not play everyday, since you know there is 100% to win, in other words do not be greedy.
5. Help your family and friends with money.

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Thanks RJOh, I agree your statement has some truth to it........
It's impossible to know anything for sure about a random event before it happens
My statement is true considering I didn't have the words for sure inserted.
What I said is.....................
it is possible to just know that a certain number or set of numbers are likely to hit soon and very soon.
Know for sure is your term. It is cold and frigged, and for the most part useless.

While it's a rare event MM has had 4 draws where the forth number has come from group B.
I think it's just part of the game. Anytime I see all low or all high numbers I expect that some
person will hit the JP because many buy tickets with all the numbers less than 10. I expect that
many more 4of5 winning tickets were sold then for a normal draw. There was one draw were
the 5th number came from group C. Stuff happens.
