Texas man claims Mega Millions jackpot
A Carrollton man picked up his cash value option prize of $62 million on Monday after winning Friday's Mega Millions jackpot.Ut Van Nguyen plans to use the money to help with the construction of a religious temple near Duncanville. He and his family will also return to Vietnam to help relatives, the Texas Lottery Commission said in a news release.Friday's jackpot was worth $101 million.Nguyen was the first Mega Millions winner in Texas. I signed as well, and I believe we all should. As RickG pointed out, randomness is not the issue. RNG's have a much higher potential for abuse than do mechanical draw machines using ping-pong balls.The way it works is, first, the lottery introduces a new game, usually a Pick-3 midday game. Pick 3 Will Pay Off On Both Sets Of Midday Winners Tuesday
Players in the Tri-State Pick 3 lottery had two chances to win the midday jackpot Tuesday.
Due to a human error during the live midday drawing of the game's daily numbers, two sets of Pick 3 numbers were drawn, according to a news release from the Tri-State Lottery. Lottery officials decided to pay out on both sets of Pick 3 winning numbers for Tuesday's mid-day draw.

Elderly woman loses $20,000 in lottery swindle
Police have issued a fraud alert after an 87-year-old Oakville woman was cheated out of more than $20,000.Halton police say the woman, who lives alone, had taken out bank drafts and couriered money to a Quebec address believing she had won $5 million in a lottery.Had police not become involved, they say the woman would have sent at least $50,000.
