Chinese man hides $30 million lottery jackpot from family, worries that money will make them "lazy"
The article did not state the winner planned to never tell his family. It is not uncommon for trust funds for children to become effective at 25 or even 30 years old. I believe the costume was to further hide his identity. Strange to me that he would be criticized for worrying about his family.

$800 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot surges on rollover
Yesterday was sitting in a busy lottery store in Shelbyville, KY. They have three self serve lottery machines and one clerk operated one. Looked @ the left machine. Said $10 credit so played MM, PB and gave me friend whom I was waiting for one PB ticket. All three bought with multipliers. OTOH feeling awful getting my first mRNA Covid-19 vaccine yesterday. Rough night! Interesting had read an article that said folks like me who get ill from vaccines actually have better vaccine response.

Wit and Wisdom of old lottery players...
Gail Howard never a big jackpot and Richard Lustig is the only lottery winner I know of that wrote a how to win the lottery book but I'm sure there are many. Not sure if he had a system for picking numbers or bought lots of QPs but some of his nine tips make sense. That yard sale was in middle of the Bible belt but the woman's ex-husband spent lots of time in Atlantic City. Had a couple copies of American Turf Monthly and one had an interesting article about spot plays similar to what Viktor

Wit and Wisdom of old lottery players...
Saw a box full of paperbacks at a yard sale 10 Cents each. It had several about behind the Vegas tables and back Lotto World issues so I bought the entire box. I believe BobP had an article about his Cow Pie Bingo system in one of the Lotto World mags. Anyways, Nick the Greek was mention in a couple books though he was called a degenerate gambler and not the King of Gamblers . They probably meant that Arnold Rothstein who was a bookie known for fixing the 1919 World Series was the king or ma

A Woman suing MGM resorts claiming gamblers have been short changed
According to the article I read, She played pretty much every number on the table. I was losing a lot, but I was also winning a lot. and she began with a $50 bet - and then gradually increased. She also said The max on the table was $5,000, but according to BetMGN website, the max bet on a straight number is $250. She was given an advance of $100,000 in cash Don't know how anyone betting $50 bucks could play almost 38 roulette numbers and get paid $35 for each win could show a profit much l

What a fool!
So, some Woman put her Nephew's name on the Lottery ticket for luck, and her ticket won for about 1.2 million. A Lottery Official split the check, so they both got checks for just a little over $600,000. When Aunt and Nephew posed with their checks, he looked happy, but she looked pissed. She was furious she had to split the winnings with Nephew for putting his name on the ticket and actually disowned Nephew for accepting half of the check and she sued him! He willingly gave her about $400,000 o

UK woman who won £1 million EuroMillions prize calls aftermath a "twisted fairytale"
I suggest that you read the article. She invested the money and is doing quite well thank you very much. The lawsuit would probably have been aimed at getting the rules changed so that people under 18 (a 16 YO could have played at the time) can't buy tickets. suing someone in UK is not the same as doing it in USA...

$1.5 billion Mega Millions winner explains how "Lottery Lawyer" Jason Kurland stole $83 million
I don't really get the whole anonymous thing. All you did was buy a $2 lottery ticket and got incredibly lucky (and rich I might add). Either way this couple still got taken. They're biggest downfalls is entrusting so much money to someone you barely met on the internet. Kurland did a great job of marketing his services. Paid handsomely for said services too. Maybe if they started out small then gradually increase their assets under management things would have turned out differently. Perso

Kansas store owner tracks down $1 million lottery winner who left behind ticket
Reading this it seemed like Deja Vu; then the date of 18 MAR appeared in the article and knew I had read it sometime ago. Be that as it may, his last sentence spoke volumes and good Karma does exist and lucky customer. (When VOIP call comes in and guy introduces himself with an American sounding name I say 'How are you Mr. Patel?' To further tick off the scammer to be I just say Huwalla (sp) and it freaks them out. Underground illegal money laundering in India.)
