Iowa lottery lawsuit granted class action, affecting 7.2 million tickets in 19 states
By Jason Clayworth
A judge has granted class-action status in a lawsuit that claims people who purchased at least 7.2 million lottery tickets in 19 states were scammed by a former national lottery IT director who worked in Iowa.
Eddie Tipton, the former IT director for the Multi-State Lottery Association in Urbandale, added a secret code to random number-generating computer software in 2005 that allowed him to narrow the drawing's winning odds from as great as 5 million to 1 down to 200 to

FBI missed rigged jackpot in 2006 before lottery scheme grew
Investigators were suspicious in 2006 when they heard that a rural Texas judge was trying to exchange $450,000 in consecutively marked bills.
But Tommy Tipton, a Fayette County magistrate, told the FBI that his actions were innocent, if odd: He won the Colorado lottery but couldn't tell his wife because gambling was against their Christian faith. The FBI accepted the story and dropped its inquiry of Tipton, who soon bought a new truck and more property around the town of Flatonia, 110 miles (

Mastermind of lottery fraud will explain how he rigged jackpots
Lottery Post's warning to the lottery industry about computerized drawings, issued more than a decade ago, is about to be confirmed as fact by Eddie Tipton, a former Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL) security director.
A lottery programmer will tell investigators how he was able to use his position to rig state jackpots for years and he and his brother will repay $3 million in prizes they improperly claimed, under a plea agreement released Monday.
Prosecutors will seek a 25-year priso

Memo: Iowa Lottery kept selling games after security warning
A newly unsealed memo shows the Iowa Lottery kept marketing four popular games despite an August 2015 warning from its security chief that their integrity was compromised.
The memo was written following the trial of Eddie Tipton, who was convicted of rigging a Hot Lotto jackpot worth $16 million.
Steve Bogle, its vice president of security, recommended that the lottery immediately suspend sales of Hot Lotto, Pick 3, Pick 4, and All or Nothing. He told CEO Terry Rich, we cannot allow the ci

Hot Lotto multi-state lottery game to end in October
By Todd Northrop
Hot Lotto, a multi-state lottery draw game currently played in 14 states, will end this October. The final Hot Lotto drawing will be conducted on Saturday, Oct. 28.
It is normal practice in the lottery industry to change your gaming mix and keep products fresh in the field. Based on overall performance after 15 years, it was time to make a change, West Virginia Lottery Director Alan Larrick said. The 14 lotteries that offer Hot Lotto are working on new game options that w

How do I prove my state lottery's CGNs are fixed?
JADELottery
I agree JADELottery there are things going on outside the drawing in order to bring about a certain fixed outcome. I have known this for years. In fact I can prove the lottery is rigged, unfortunately it will do me no good to post the 100% accurate detailed data on this site.
There is a part of me the ego that wants to be the first in the world to publicate it but I have been holding on to it for some time, maybe just waiting for the right moment I dont know?
But it is ri

Indiana Lottery (Hoosier Lotto)
I have said repeadedly that I do not have any factual proof the Hoosier Lottery is rigged. There are 2 instances of rigged games I can point to.
1. The William Foreman Scratch off scandal. Mr. Foreman...a Hoosier Lottery Security Official rigged a scratch off game. The Hoosir Lottery has admitted Mr. Foreman rigged the game. His accomplices have pled guilty in a plea bargain agreement. Mr. Foreman is out on bail awaiting trial but press reports indicate he will in all probability not be

Court rejects Colorado man's claim to full $4.8M lottery jackpot he unwittingly split with scammers
the numbers Tipton selected had the same chance of matching
The numbers that Tipton rigged had zero chance of matching the overwhelming majority of numbers picked by an RNG or by players. If Tipton hadn't eliminated the overwhelming majority of combinations he wouldn't have had any advantage because he'd have been playing against the same odds as layers who weren't cheating. Still, feel free to explain why the odds matter when the drawing was rigged.
Tipton rigged the drawing, but never
