Alabama Senate passes lottery bill
Alabama could have a scratch off-only lottery and still make tons of money
I'm pretty sure several lotteries started by just selling scratch-offs only. The Ohio Lottery started out with a game called Buckeye 300.
Assuming AL ever gets a lottery, many here are wondering if they will allow anonymous claims, or claims through trusts and LLCs.
Now is the ideal time for Alabama to address that. I'd like to see the wording in the bill because it might be included considering they included

Alabama Senate passes lottery bill
Singleton said he believed the bill defines a lottery too narrowly. I think that it does not create enough revenue, Singleton said. I think it leaves us in the dark age just being a paper lottery.
Most states that have a lottery have only a paper-based lottery and generate plenty of revenue. If he would bother to read other state lotteries' financial reports, available publicly on their websites, he would see a trend of scratch offs making up the majority of sales. People love scratcher

Inexperienced lottery player's confusion leads to $150,000 prize
Oregon sure has some strange lottery stories IMHO. Wish I was confused when buying ticket. The other story I'm referring to was that guy from Iraq who bought a huge jackpot ticket through a lottery service and was able to keep anonymous.
OTOH Wisconsin lottery set to announce the big Powerball winner there this afternoon.
Another sad lottery story coming here on the news @ noon, guy killed in Louisville, KY for having a winning lottery ticket.

Growing number of states move to shield lottery winners
One more time, just copy Australia.
Put a box on the play slip under the letters NP, NO PUBLICITY. If the player marks that box they've already made their choice.
Simple solution, the player had made their choice for NO PUBLICITY, which I'm pretty sure guarantees the winner remains anonymous.

Growing number of states move to shield lottery winners
If the states just give anonymity to PB and MM jackpot winners and because of the low number of yearly winners, it wouldn't effect some states very often. Might be a problem determining what dollar amount allows players to claim anonymously too. Because taxes are deducted from winnings over $25,000, that might be a good starting place. Another problem with not granting all lottery winners anonymity, without any large jackpot winners to write and talk about, the press might go after $5000 winners

Growing number of states move to shield lottery winners
From the OP;
The Arizona Lottery took no official position, but spokesman John Gilliland said it is important that we have that transparency, because the lottery is nothing without integrity.
So he's saying that states that do allow lottery winners to remain anonymous lotteries are 'nothing and have no integrity'.
What a

Lottery state chart/anonymity and claimants
The official Michigan website used to be much better. They did an incredibly poor job when they revamped it recently.
Anyway, Michigan has had anonymity for 30 years now (except Multi-States) and no issues with that have come to light!
In fact most people across other states didn't even know Michigan has been anonymous!
If there were any real problems with anonymity it would not have lasted for 30 years in Michigan.

Lottery state chart/anonymity and claimants
Great work on this Artist, thanks)
Delaware's answer to remaining anonymous;
(Picture on the left, or they used to give winners a smiley face paddle to stand behind, don't know if they still do)

For those lp members who play pb and mm on their state lottery sites
It looks like the Virginia Law passed to allow winners to remain anonymous for wins over $10 million. It will be official on 7-1-19.
For those who play online, how typical is it to require a minimum play of 4 tickets on one game? That is, 4 draws for the next game or a repeat play for the next 4 draws. I am not a big fan of repeating my picks. It seems excessive.

$768.4 million Powerball lottery jackpot won by single ticket sold in Wisconsin
Change will happen when reality hits like when a baby is kidnapped and killed for ransom. The kidnappers want the Jackpot money.
Actually this occurred in Australia way back in the 1960's. Australia, Canada, and the U.K. all went to anonymous claiming soon after.
I will use the LP Search box and see if the story is there.
