The only problem with monthly lottery books and annual lottery dream books [lottery almanacs], which are all intended for All States , is that there are so many numbers to choose from in these books. How do you know which numbers to choose to play for your state ???
My personal favorite is Rob's Best Picks [$2.50/monthly] published by Britt's Industries, b/c it's a regional publication. My edition covers Florida, NC, SC, Georgia, and Tennessee. They have other editions that cover other states

With $63M jackpot expiring today, Calif. Lottery sued by owner of damaged ticket
Well, I'm surprised this news actually made it to CNN com.
They didn't even mention the obvious error. The controversy surrounding all of this is making me
apprehensive to play, any lotto. And yet, I know I have to play.

That sinking feeling you get when you find an error in a formula
I once wrote a predictor program that had a build in back-test option. I had big plans and thought
it would do very well over time. I fired it up and hit the back-test button and it spit out a 3 of 5 for
the current game. Each time the back-test button is pressed it dropped one line in the database
and then using so many games from history it would try to predict the next draw. OK, second
click, another 3of5 on one line. Woo Hoo. I clicked it again and bam a 4 of 5 hit on one line.

Are we throwing away our money by trying to beat an RNG?
Good analysis
Anybody who realized that repeated numbers had been disallowed could bet on the numbers in the smaller set of possible results.
True but in that case the error wasn't sufficient to overcome the house odds (pool of possible 3 digit numbers reduced from 1000 to 720). And people who picked random numbers, not aware of the flaw, would, over the long run, lose the same amount of money.

Tennessee couple claims share of $1.6 billion Powerball jackpot
Yes Congratulations to the Robinsons! I just watched the video of them on The Today Show and they seem like a very down to earth family. Granted their attorney is not too bright but I'll assume they got him from their tiny town of 6000 peeps so you'd have to forgive them for making that error. In the interview they state that it was their Attorney's Idea to go on a National Television Show. They will unfortunately probably live to regret that decision as that is obviously a dumb idea. The idea h

$1.5 BILLION: Wednesday Powerball record jackpot still rising
Anyone ever have this happen? I asked the clerk for five Powerball quick picks, she hits the button but they didn't print. She checks the terminal and says the numbers were generated but wouldn't print. She tries several different things trying to get them to print without success. The clerk then calls her manager. About 10 minutes later the manager shows up in her pajamas (it was somewhat late). Does a few things and gets a ticket of the numbers to print, but the ticket has a banner on the bott

Maybe LP members should buy out PB
Funny thing is that no one bought up the cost error, PB tickets are $2.00 so it would cost $3,400.00 per member.
1.5 billion, 930 million cash, ticket cost equals $584,402,676.00. I forgot taxes, Hummmm, hope no one else hits.
We might not even win our money back.

$675 MILLION: POWERBALL SETS ALL-TIME LOTTERY JACKPOT RECORD
That made me laugh! Mad Ludwig invented Deutsch? If so, he was mad alright.
Was tired when I called my Brother wishing him Happy Birthday and said the jackpot was $725 million and didn't realize my error. I think it'll blow far past the 700's shortly...
