Lottery state chart/anonymity and claimants
Thanks. I will add that to the next update. I recall that story now. I guess you and I and most of LP understand that once that 110% non anonymity begins to be chipped away, regardless of reason, it eventually could benefit all lottery players in that state. Exceptions to anonymity are important to know regardless of the fact situation. It is no different to new case law building on prior case law.
I chose not to generalize the non-anonymous potential option unless there was a public source.

Trusting your lawyer with the winning ticket
And that's why I cringe every I time read the winner should do this, the winner should do that . If the winner does not have a lawyer, they should know a friend or a relative that can recommend a good one. If that doesn't work, just sign the back of the ticket, take it lottery headquarters, get it validated, and then look for legal help. Granted in most states that may take away any chance of claiming anonymous, but it sure beats hiring and giving an unsigned to Mike Aveniatti for safe keeping.

$768.4 million Powerball lottery jackpot won by single ticket sold in Wisconsin
Hi Artist!
What other states do you have on your chart? OH I know is an anonymous state, same with SC and DE, and MD...
But what about PA, IN, KY, TN....or even that one state where the media shot down efforts to make winners anonymity a thing...
Thanks in advance...

$768.4 million Powerball lottery jackpot won by single ticket sold in Wisconsin
I have been working on a chart for all the states.
Here is what I have for Wisconsin.
Not anonymous/cannot be claimed by other entities. The original winning ticket must be signed by a single human being. For-profit and non-profit entities, trusts, and other non-human beings are not eligible to play or claim a prize. Source: https://wilottery.com/claimprize.aspx
So trusts are not a option regardless of the counsel you hire.

Arkansas bill to keep lottery winner names secret fails
From the OP;
The measure was opposed by media groups who said keeping the information secret would prevent the public from knowing if there was any misconduct in the state lottery.
Yo, Arkansas media groups, do your homework. There is more misconduct in the states that do no allow winners to be anonymous than states that do.

Winner of $1.5 billion Mega Millions jackpot has come forward
I'd say the rational conclusion is that they felt they didn't have everything taken care of until late February.
She waited because I was searching for someone who could assist her in making decisions on handling her winnings and wanted to make sure I make all of the right decisions, which is why I have taken this amount of time to collect my prize . I suppose someone can make the stretch that searching for assistance is close to getting their ducks in a row , if the ducks were $877,784,124

Winner of $1.5 billion Mega Millions jackpot has come forward
Getting your ducks in a row simply refers to getting things squared away.
Apparently you missed where I mentioned this winner will get over $1/2 billion after taxes meaning it looks like their financial ducks were not so simple.
I've got no idea why you would think that winning a huge amount would mean that you can get things done faster than with a modest prize.
Based on your definition and if they really waited while getting their ducks in a row, they should have claimed no later

$273M Mega Millions jackpot winner from NJ says he initially forgot the lottery ticket at the store
For those wondering why lots of lottery players and many LP members believe jackpot winners be allowed to claim anonymously, many of the comments about this Jackpot winner should explain why. It almost like some here believe jackpot winners are obliged to explain everything to them.
The thing is, all the jackpot envy people, jackpot ticket validating experts, and what the winners should or shouldn't do with their money people would have nothing to post if all jackpot winners were anonymous.

Winner of $1.5 billion Mega Millions jackpot has come forward
Congrats to the anonymous winner(s).
Thank you for finally coming forward to claim your prize and put all of our suspicions of a lost, stolen, dog eaten, dash board, sun visor, blown out the window, dead upon discovering you won thoughts to rest.
Like most here, I would also like to know why you waited so long after Jan 2, 2019 to claim.
