Mega Millions lottery winner proved his wife wrong
Rocco Derrigo said his wife, Jean, convinced him to play the lottery regularly.
She said, 'You'll never win.' I had to prove her wrong, the Floral Drive resident joked.
Score one for Rocco.
The retired New York Air Brake worker won $250,000 when he nailed five out of six numbers Tuesday in the Mega Millions lottery.
Mr. Derrigo said he double-checked his numbers before erupting into celebration and calling as many of his 10 siblings as he could reach to share the good news.

Britain's biggest lottery winner says jackpot ruined her life
Emerging from a cramped flat in the run-down Scottish town of East Kilbride, the dowdy middle-aged woman does not look out of place.
Clutching a handful of plastic carrier bags, she struggles down the street alongside the school-run moms and Asbo kids on their way to the chip shop.
The weather has turned her recently permed hair into a shapeless frizz and her lackluster skin is devoid of make-up. Dressed in old jeans and a baggy top, another empty day unfolds.
Her look is not one whic

if you found a winning ticket that wasn't yours
I'm leaning toward what Stack47 said on this one.
Casino jackpots (slots) are intentionally set up as to avoid being taxed (not the big jackpots, but such as non-progressive video poker). There is a formula or set of rules for each denomination machine, a 25 cent poker machine pays $1199 so as not to be taxed.
A dollar machine pays more but the amount where the jackpot would be taxed is higher.
Keno tickets have the same type of payout schedule. One of the biggest beefs I ever sazw wa

N.Y. Gov. vows to review Lottery operations
New York Governor Eliot Spitzer is pledging to review the New York Lottery's operations amid bipartisan calls for reform prompted by a media report revealing that billions of dollars in bets were kept off the Lottery's books.
Several state legislators said yesterday that the Lottery Division needed to fully account for all the cash generated by its video lottery terminals, after it was reported that only a portion of wagers was included in the Lottery's financial reports.

How A Ryo-Catteau Machine Works
To ensure fairness and integrity in its winning numbers...and that nothing but random chance alone makes a lottery ticket a winner, Ontario and many provinces use the finest lottery machines made by Ryo-Catteau. Most countries have or use Ryo-Catteau equipment. Our national lottery here in Canada, Lotto 6-49 and Super 7 use the Tulipe machine which is the brand name for that sytle. Great Britain's NATIOANL' lottery does as well.
Made by a company in Wattrelos, France; Ryo-Catteau is the w

Supercomputers & the lotto....Part2..
There is no question in my mind whatsoever that if I could spend $360 per drawing, I would snag a pick-5 within 4-6 months, but I only allow myself $10 and do what I think is right.
you could probably do it with 156 tickets. if you chose the 2 digits that repeat from month to month and wheel the rest.
'The weakest link as always will be the human programming the machine. '
can't argue that point many times it has much to do with what you imput.
And that is the STRONGEST lin

Keno, both casino and lottery
Rip Snorter
I had many years of casino work, mostly in the dice pit.
Those numbers in the center of the payout, the sucker bets that all the gambling authors warn people not to bet...especially the one roll bets, 2, 3, 11, and 12, combined that's a Horn Bet ....
It is absolutely uncanny how when they do show up, they show up in groups. In fact, for the potential payoff, paralying a horn bet is probably one of the strongest bets there is. Not a smart bet, but a strong bet.

what does a prediction formula look like?
profiling...
which are good?
for powerball I get a profile containing
A. Even or Odd
B. Up/Down/Repeat from last game in same position
C. Decade (which group of 10 the number came from)
D. Starting Grid Column (approximates ball position based on the stacks that the balls are in before entering the machine... no known use but it does vary from the decade value in certain cases)
for each number I have the above info
on my sheet, looks like
36 (current), 14 (previous), -

Some information about Powerball
pigskin said to bigloooooser in referance to Bigloooooser stating in some fashion that the lottery may be fixedIn the sequence where you got 5 numbers right are you saying 1) the terminals in each retail outlet are controlled by the central computer or software prepared by the cental lottery office which is downloaded in each retail outlet and so makes all of the terminals in the different states part of a number picking scheme? 2) If you are saying yes to the previous question, are you saying
