Monroe County lottery club wins $4M playing instant game
Monroe County lottery club wins $4M playing instant game.
A two-member lottery club from Monroe County won $4 million playing the Michigan Lottery's Mad Max Money game.
We've been playing together for years, but you never expect to win like this, said the club's representative who chose to remain anonymous. I scratched off the ticket and thought it was fake.

You just won a huge lottery jackpot! Now what?
My feeling is that it would obviously be best remain anonymous if at all possible, and with a smaller jackpot that might be possible, but in the case of either of these jackpots there would simply be no hiding it. lol... Best one could hope for is that people knew (suspect) that you won a lottery, but they didn't know the magnitude of your new found wealth. Unless, that is, you were ready and able to abandon your former life completely, but that would be impossible for most of us.
Also, I can

Mega Millions sets world record with $1.6 billion lottery jackpot for Tuesday drawing
The winners can remain anonymous in any state allow them to claim via trust. A blind trust is a totally different legal arrangement.
if I had tickets in Ohio I am not sure how I would claim it.
I'm not even going to ask why even buy tickets if you're not sure you would claim it because it makes no sense.

Powerball joins lottery frenzy with $620 million jackpot
-For a total anonymous state like MD, I would still claim with a trust that was not your name...New toys for Fluffy..lol. Assuming they allow this option. You want to blur that trail to you. Some low level bank clerk could talk or get bribed. This is for the claiming trust only.
2nd scenario. Does not matter re: anonymity. If you have the option to claim with a trust maybe there could be some tax advantages with it all being payable to a charitable trust that pays you something yearly...

$548 MILLION: Mega jackpot to spark ticket-buying frenzy
MsBee18, I do not understand your question, sorry.
The winner might be a beginner's lucky winner. I am not sure though.
South Carolina allows winners to remain anonymous. Is that it?

HGTV's 'My Lottery Dream Home' Season 5 premiere wins record ratings
As for me personally, I don't care for the show.
For the few shows that I watched, the winners didn't rush out and buy themselves expensive mansions. From a price standpoint, some of the houses that were for sale were priced about the same as some homes close to where I live.
The objection I had while I was watching the show is that the winners appearing on it are showing the world exactly where they live, exactly what their new home and they themselves look like. To me, that's the direct

HGTV's 'My Lottery Dream Home' Season 5 premiere wins record ratings
With lottery (jackpot) winners fighting to remain anonymous, it's a wonder that there are still people willing to appear on that show.
The most common advice is to lay low, blend in and don't tell a lot of people.
Being on this show is like yelling I WON A LOTTERY JACKPOT from the mountain tops!
