How to stay Anonymous?
I was thinking of ways of trying to stay anonymous if you win a large jackpot say 100 + million. My thoughts are that now that 100-250 million dollar jackpots have become almost routine people almost ignore you unless you go out of you way to be in the spotlight (see jack whittacker). So if you do a simple press confrence and then disapear no one will most likely notice and you can become an unknown quickly. Also if there are multiple winners on a jackpot then let someone else take the spotlig

Forming a trust to claim prize
Quote: Originally posted by rundown99 on March 17, 2005 I know that in states like Ohio and New Hampshire, you can form a trust to claim a prize, because it was actually done in those states. But can you do it anywhere? So if the jackpot was won in Nebraska or South Dakota or Pennsylvania, could you still form a trust and remain anonymous? The WLT Trust was formed in Pennsylvania a while back to claim a large Powerball jackpot but the names were still shown on the Powerball news article. The Du

New Michigan bill would allow multi-state lottery winners to remain anonymous
By Kate Northrop
On Thursday, a State Representative proposed new legislature that would allow Michigan winners of multi-state games like Mega Millions and Powerball to remain anonymous when claiming a prize.
Only winners of local in-state Michigan games are currently allowed to remain anonymous, but a bill introduced by Rep. Pat Outman specifies that players who win multi-state games would be able to choose to remain anonymous as well.
According to a press release, the intention of the

DC Not anonymous/Anonymous possible via a trust or LLC. Anonymous question is not directly answered on lottery website. In the District of Columbia, specific lottery winner information is public record. However, a Powerball Jackpot win was claimed via a LLC in 2009. Lottery state chart/anonymity and claimants
WA State....Maybe anonymous.
I think in Washington the winner can remain anonymous. The key word is the name may be released if there is a records request. Not will or must . So the lottery can choose not to reveal the people at the winners request and that would be lawful . There have been several winners who claimed using Trusts or LLC and remained anonymous.

Did Newsom just set a precedent for winners to remain anonymous in California?
Recently they had two or three lottery drawings for people who got the Covid vaccine to win various cash prizes. The winners of this were all given the option to remain anonymous. I haven't seen a single winner step forward to put their face/name out there in public.
Surely this has now set a precedent for winners of the regular lotteries to do the same?

Anonymous / Non anonymous states
mikeintexas,
You've got me thinking now. If the games were the same price I'm sure they anonymous would win out, I'm thinki9ng even forking over a few more bucks to remain anonymous would win out........until some reprobate won a jackpot and said, If I knew I could have paid a few more bucks to remain anonymous I would've done it but nobody told me about it

Mystery NH Powerball lottery winner gets her prize, keeps her privacy — for now
None of the reasons for states that don't allow winners to remain anonymous can counter the fact that states and countries that dp allow winners to remain anonymous haven't had to discontinue their lotteries.
Just male remaining anonymous an option and those who want to 'shout it from the rooftops' can do so uf they want to and those who want to win 'stealth' can also do so.
