Mega Millions Lottery Disappoints, Officials Say

Washington state has a similar game that should be retired as well.I totally agree, there is absolutely no reason to have both games in MA anymore. They both have so few players relative to the odds that the jackpots are seldom won anymore.

TEXAS joining Mega Millions!
Lottoscorp,Your argument makes sense. I think it came down to the fact that New York was able to dictate a number of changes that it wanted (even as much as completely changing the game name), whereas I think they would basically have to adopt the PB rules.I think you may want to refrase to say it makes more cultural sense for Texas to go with MM (rather than Ethinic sense ).

MM changing already?
Mega Millions already has the longest jackpot odds of any US lottery game. Will Texas joining mean the 10 existing states already having to print new betslips?

win Win WIN The Lotto Texas Jackpot $4M
Well, I think it would *naturally* become a smaller JP..... more Texans would place their dollar on Powerball rather than TX Lotto. As for the TLC changing the game again, I'm sure they will within 5 years anyway. They've had 3 different *pick 6* games within the 5 years I've lived here.

Will Texas Join.....
since they just approved a bill allowing TX to join a multi-state game, it maybe closer than we all thought. Changing the bill was a first step, but we'll see what happens. OH! The excitment! The drama! The suspense! {just kidding)More info:http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/metropolitan/1924025http://www.statesman.com/legislature/content/coxnet/texas/legislature/0503/0524lottery.html2nd article makes it sounds like Perry will only veto if the ammendments are added.

New York's Pick 10 from 1-80
smd:A state (OK commonwealth) with the population of PA easily supports two jackpot games. KENO would be a good idea for PA _after_ they replace Super-6.The only jackpot winner in Michigan Winfall so far chose annuity (AFTER claiming). That certainly hurt promoting the new Michigan game.Hot Lotto easily could add a few balls on the top (5/45 + 1/19?) if PA joins (without changing the lower prizes).

Numbers for Michigan Win Fall
It's a moot point for me here in NY, but, I would try to wait until the $5 million plateau is reached.I wonder if Ohio will be changing its 6/49 game soon. Whatever they do, they should drop their Kicker .

Ohio changing Lotto?
It's been almost a year since Ohio began selling tickets for Mega Millions. Not surprisingly, Ohio Lotto 6/49 has taken a major hit.The Ohio Lottery website is soliciting comments on whether to replace the current Lotto game. There are four proposals; two include retaining the Kicker , while the other two would replace Kicker with a multiplier option familiar to those who play Powerball/PowerPlay.
