Very good time to win the mega millions tonight
Problem with name change, more in this particular case, is that if reporters really want to find out who you really are, they easily can. They just have to look in court records for name changes or recent newspaper announcements, the latter depending on the state. In Washington state it cost between $150-$200 to change your name. I don't think the newspaper announcement is required.
I think maybe another option would be to move immediately to another county in your state if you win the lotter

Lost scratch off ticket did they know whether it is a winner or not
Yep, that's the rub isn't it.
Scratch-offs are much more complicated and rife with fraud possibilities compared to regular draw lottery games. Yes, *someone* knows A: where the winners are in the books of tickets, and *someone* knows B: where the books of tickets went. But who and how many knows both A and B? Maybe just one person or none?
You figure that someone at the ticket manufacturer Scientific Games corp knows A. And also gives that master list of scratch ticket serial numbers (visi

fixed
The poll is somewhat loaded, given that you can only answer fixed or not fixed.(conspiracy theory is same as not fixed)
But is it possible that a very small part of the lottery could be fixed? To that I would answer yes.
That is precisely the reason they do all the pre-checks on the RNG and the bouncing balls, because of the potential for tampering/fraud. And who is the fox guarding the henhouse? The government is littered with cases of fraud and abuse, and the Lottery Commission is part o

How The Winners, Not Numbers, Are Picked. A Theorem.
From my previous posts, it's evident that I do not believe the fix is in when it comes to online lotteries.
Lotteries are not new. Colonial America held lotteries as one method of raising tax revenues. Lotteries served many and various purposes. Sometimes lotteries were used to raise funds to build a hospital.
In the late 19th century lotteries were banned by law mainly due to fraud and corruption. In 1960, they resurfaced.
With a history of corruption and fraud, in 1960, state govermen

Finding a lottery ticket
You've misunderstood the meaning of the stuff that's written on the back of the ticket because you don't understand what a bearer instrument is. Lottery tickets are personal property, just like many other things for which ownership isn't registered (ever hear of cash?), and the owner doesn't lose their ownership interest simply because they lose or misplace the property they own.
I would think you would only be committing fraud if you signedsomething at the time that you claimed the ticket t

do you think florida will go computerized?
There can be no question that, if this trend is allowed to continue (in other words, if WE allow it to continue), Florida and other states will embrace electronic drawing methods.
Once officials in other states begin to see how much money can simply vanish before the public's eyes, with no consequences or investigations, of course they'll make the switch. Not to do so would make them the laughingstock of their peers. Ethics violations, questionable spending and outright fraud or other c

Free lotteries on the Internet
Came in email this morning in the Kim Komando Daily (computer) Tip Newsletter. Live links. Most of us know what to watch out for, but for those who don't consider this pretty good advice. Free lotteries on the Internet Q. How reliable are the free lottery sites on the Web? There are some I play daily. They offer fine prizes, but I have never won. There are money prizes as low as $1 on <snip> and I've never won even that. Another one, <snip>, never responds to my questions. Who moni

Memo: Iowa Lottery kept selling games after security warning
A newly unsealed memo shows the Iowa Lottery kept marketing four popular games despite an August 2015 warning from its security chief that their integrity was compromised.
The memo was written following the trial of Eddie Tipton, who was convicted of rigging a Hot Lotto jackpot worth $16 million.
Steve Bogle, its vice president of security, recommended that the lottery immediately suspend sales of Hot Lotto, Pick 3, Pick 4, and All or Nothing. He told CEO Terry Rich, we cannot allow the ci

Winner sues Colorado Lottery 12 years after rigged drawing
A decade after Colorado engineer Amir Massihzadeh hit the lottery, two state agents visited him with stunning news: He was likely the only legitimate winner of a $4.8 million jackpot he'd had to split three ways.
They told the Boulder resident that the other two people who had won the 2005 drawing were linked to a conspiracy in which a lottery insider and several cohorts had rigged drawings in several states. Now Massihzadeh, 62, is suing for the rest of the winnings that he feels should have

Hot Lotto multi-state lottery game to end in October
By Todd Northrop
Hot Lotto, a multi-state lottery draw game currently played in 14 states, will end this October. The final Hot Lotto drawing will be conducted on Saturday, Oct. 28.
It is normal practice in the lottery industry to change your gaming mix and keep products fresh in the field. Based on overall performance after 15 years, it was time to make a change, West Virginia Lottery Director Alan Larrick said. The 14 lotteries that offer Hot Lotto are working on new game options that w
