Damn those New Yorkers..
Gary: CA and NY require the cash/annuity choice when you PLAY. Here it's more or less assumed that everybody wants lump sum unless the player says otherwise. Mega Millions tickets cannot be canceled in NY (or anywhere as it's a multi-state game.) Since March, NY has had a terrible scratch game with Lotto free plays as prizes... they all say 26 ANNUAL PAYMENTS !

will they be bumping up lottery from extra sales ?
I suppose sales in Ohio and New York (which never sold a multi-state game until MM started) have more than offset any lower sales from the seven holdovers from Big Game due to the longer odds.

NY LOTTERY 30% ALIEN FEE?
EZ: The only reason I'm making this suggestion is because the NY Lottery is NOT allowed to let players choose AFTER they win. Since almost all players want the lump sum anyway, and that NY finally has a multi-state game, changing the NY Lotto game to include an all-cash format should seriously be considered.

HOW TO PLAY THE BIG GAME ONLINE
What's up with all of the sites that claim you can buy Big Game Tickets but you have to join some kind of pool or club?I just want to buy myself a few Big Game Tickets but do not live in one of the States that participates in this particular multi-state Lottery. The only site that I have found that looks as if they can do this for me has been down for several days. Any ideas?

OFFICIAL: New BG odds 1:135 million!!
Well ... we have Big Game adding 2 new sizable states. Plus we have a shuffling with the games matrix and the subsequent jacking of the odds. Jumbo Jackpots ( and more often) are in the future. What is the next move? Will PowerBall try to sign up the remaining states? Will they uptheir odds??Or how about this ............ California, Texas and Florida teaming up to form their own personal multi-state game?Rob

Predictions for 11/03/2001 Midday States
it will force ALL the lottery states, save maybe California, into joining either Powerball or Big Game. Remember when Florida approved P-ball in late 1998, but George W's brother took over? It would be a help if your governor supports EITHER multi-state game. Too bad you live in central Ohio. Maybe you can try to get a job closer to the state line (except the Pennsylvania border.)

Rollinsford, NH is on Maine border
Todd: I'm guessing that a/the ticket holder whose numbers came from the winning store in New Hampshire live(s) in Maine, which was a MUSL member in the Lotto*America period. Maine decided to drop membership upon the game change from L*A to Powerball in 1992. Its governor is against Maine joining another multi-state game (it is part of Tri-State Megabucks.)

Powerball 100m/54.9m ca$h for Wed 8/15
RJoh: The purpose of Lotto South is to allow players to try for larger jackpots than in the three separate lotto games, but without the 1 in 75+ million jackpot odds for the Big Game. Single-state jackpot games are losing favor (with a few exceptions.) The new lottery director in Michigan is being urged to replace Michigan Millions with a proposed multi-state game.

Traditional lotto games an endangered species?
Last year California replaced its regular lotto with a Powerball/Big Game style format. Lotto Georgia and Lotto Kentucky are being dumped, with Lotto Virginia serving all three states beginning next month. Colorado is expected to alter or eliminate its Lotto now that it's a Powerball state. The struggling new Michigan Millions may morph into still another multi-state game. Are single-state six-number jackpot lotto games on their way to extinction?

New MI chief could mean new multi-state game
Any proposed multi-state game (which would replace the 6/51 Michigan Millions ) should not only include Illinois, but also a third Great Lakes state, Pennsylvania. To encourage the Keystone State to join in, allow PA to expand Super-6 Lotto west, with at least one modification: allow players to select ALL the numbers (the current game requires the computer to select two of the three plays per dollar.)
