Tentatively targeting August 14 to retire this website...
...and replace it with the new one. If you haven't yet tried the preview website, now's your chance. Is there anything you want to provide feedback about before we switch over to it? You can see the What's New page for the list of items that I've fixed and changed since the preview website went live in June. I'll probably get started in the morning on Aug. 15 (a Sunday) so that if anything goes wrong I should have a good amount of time to fix it before Monday. (Not that I'm expecting an

NY lottery millionaire inspired by a dream
If I won what she did and had $86,034 after withholdings yearly that would be plenty for me to retire on. I think many people would agree, but don't forget Edwina lives in NY, where the cost of living is significantly higher than elsewhere in the country. For me, would it be enough to retire....hmmm....it would be close but it wouldn't be a guaranteed retire now income stream. Maybe after 10 years or so. I picture myself traveling in retirement and that in itself can be very costly. If the

When to retire numbers?
Hello, I was wondering if anybody had any thoughts on when to put a sequence or range of numbers on the shelf and for how long. For instance, if you were to hit 4/6 would you retire those 4 set of numbers for a specified period of time or would you continue to play the set even if they came up the previous week(s). Thanks in advance, -K

North Carolina woman "cried all the way home" after winning "life-changing" $723,755 lottery jackpot
I have known a few several men/women to retire at barely upper middle age (57 years old) and another 1 i do know is lil younger 55, so that is a great thing, when you can retire before early 60s. Great win here, god bless her. I do not really play that 1 only sporadically. I am so very happy for her, as I do well at Pick 4, but i love to see others win pick 4 to cash 5 nc, fast play, to others games, so nice, happy for her, and GOOD LUCK to all who are playing their lottery games,

What would you do if you won the BIG Lottery? :)
Just about one year later, he was broke and begging his old Boss for his job back.... Winning the lottery can do a lot to change your life, but it can't stop you from being a loser and that guy was very obviously a loser. How much money you need to retire depends on a lot of things, but AFAIC if you don't take home enough to retire then you didn't win a big lottery. If you don't need income from a job but still feel that you need a job you may not be a loser but I'd say you've got issues

New York Cash Money Team
That's great. Her Chinese must be pretty good. I work at Mount Sinai for about 16 years as an admission's clerk. So did my brother and my sister. My ex-sister-in-law will retire from there this year. I worked at a hospital (Jefferson Hospital in Penn.) before I decide to come here. I love living here. It's a different life. There are many good people here. People here have the same dreams as in the US. Family, friends and to hit the lottery and retire. Too bad the people that run the governments

Interesting read from Money magazine; Is 1 million still enough to retire on? https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/1-million-still-enough-retire-200619378.html

How much do you all think is enough to retire on?
I am married and in my late 30's and we don't have any kids other than 2 dogs. We both work and 5 years ago upgraded to a nicer and larger home after rolling the proceeds from our previous home. We took out a 15 year note as we were able to save another 1 1/4 percent. A million dollars net would subsidize our current income and allow us to live a very nice lifestyle while $3 million net would be adequate to retire on. We both have retirement accounts and that is also a factor on deciding when

How much do you all think is enough to retire on?
I would retire immediately if I was to win a jackpot big enough where my investments returned anywhere between $45 - 65 K or more after taxes. Being that I would split my winnings with my brother 50/50, I figure that would mean I would have to win a jackpot of at least $20 mil. $10 mil apiece less 48% taxes (NYC resident) would leave me about $5,200,000. The interest on that amount would be about $104,000 / year less about 40% taxes on the earnings would net me about $62,400. With that
