I'm done playing the lottery
I rarely play draw games. The house edge is ridiculous and the odds of winning are absurd. Usually I play the scratch-off games, and I am particular about which ones. When a certain game is only available at that stupid vending machine that has made its way on my ban list, I'm left with nothing to play.
Yesterday, before I started this thread, I went to the convenience store down the street and tried to buy the $3 ka-pow bingo. They had none.
This idiotic state lottery makes way too many

Delaware man "Spare Change" wins $1 million in Maryland Lottery
Vending machine attendant gets more than a little spare change
By Kate Northrop
A vending machine attendant who goes by the name Spare Change has just won $1 million from a scratch-off in the Maryland Lottery.
The 36-year-old man, who hails from Millsboro, Delaware, picked up his fortune in the midst of his daily routine when he purchased a scratch-off ticket from the Lottery's 100X The Cash game for $20.
Spare Change stopped at the 7-Eleven convenience store on Coastal Highway in O

So I went to a vending machine to get my eve #'s. I didnt use a card and was manually entering my #'s. When you pull up the Pick 3 option the machine has a QP already on the screen when you start, then you have to CLEAR that to enter your own number. And every time you buy a number it goes back to giving you a qp and you have to clear it again. So normally I try to use cards.
Well this time while I was entering my numbers one of the qps that popped up was 275, which is one of my favorite num

How would you feel if this happened to you? Read my story.
And the those self serve machines have buttons to get QPs making using the QP option on a play slip unnecessary.
They do but only if you want a $2 quick pick. I was visiting Ohio on Friday and stopped to pick up an extra ticket for Friday night. I could do a quick pick without the megaplyer on the machine I was using but to add the megaplyer I needed to use a play slip. It makes no sense at all, in my opinion, but the machine was primarily a scratch off vending machine so maybe that is

Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
I agree with you, and I don't think we'll be seeing another $5M anytime soon based on the previous gaps and how close these last two $5Ms popped. Maybe 650k-700k+ range, but like you said...the FL Lottery could start some funny business around this period of time returning books. Surprised that all the $5M and $1M prizes were claimed on the $20 Flamingo. That should be happening for every game.
Georgia lottery has scanners on the vending machines, and they work much better than the ones in Fl

Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
Guys, believe me, something crazy is going on with the $20 Monopoly game. Took a road trip to Apopka today so I could get my Wawa cravings on. Sadly, they've done away with my Frozen Lemonade product which was my favorite, but the food is still great, and OMG they have Frozen SURGE in the Icee Machine! Last month we visited the World of Coca-Cola and part of the final tour is getting to taste all sorts of Coke products from around the world. I ended up mixing Mr Pibb and Surge and I think I crea

Florida store employee arrested for 'micro-scratching' lottery tickets
There are many states this is prolly happening in, maybe not the micro scratching....there are other ways too I sure. I know one store where the clerk watches what people scratch and no winners he is in there grabbing tickets and only scratch off bar code....he most generally hits a winner quick. i seen this done often. Then the clerks also check in the lottery machine of winners of what tickets have hit and then watch those too and go in and take advantage.
These clerks know when tickets ar

Tried my first lottery ticket machine today!
I'd guess they're blowing smoke up your ass. It's possible that state lottery could simply rent space for a machine, but businesses with vending machines generally have some kind of ownership interest in the machine. Not sure how they verify things if the machine simply takes your money and won't give you what you want, but stores should be ready to help with any problem that happens in their store.
I had a problem with my bet slip jamming in a NY machine in NY once. I figure it would probabl

A crazy lottery story
This morning I purchased two lottery tickets for this week's Mega and Power from a vending machine. They were quick picks. The computer definitely generated two sets of numbers but the printer jammed and no tickets were printed. When they opened the machine and pulled out the ticket paper it was all blank. There was just a young kid working there who knew nothing. I have since been told that the computer will void the first ticket that jammed but the second ticket (the powerball) should print as

[UPDATE] D.C. woman who tried to redeem faulty ticket admitted to forging second 'winner'
This is going to really make me re-think buying any scratch offs from a vending machine. I had an issue before with claiming a prize, where I almost lost it due to the machine not being able to print me another ticket, since i was going to just use the winning funds to play again.
But at the same time this store I used to go if I wanted to buy a scratch off from the counter, the grumpy clerk there would ALWAYS remind me I can buy them from the machine. Even when I went with a $20 bill or so
