Interesting way to avoid being hassled ?
The Lottery considers whomever turns in the ticket to be the winner, thus that is who is liable for taxes.
Another guy told me he would give the winning ticket to a friend and only ask for $1Million in cash in return in order to remain anonymous.
Transferring $1Million cash from one person to another is not that easy w/o setting off all kinds of alarms involving gift taxes etc
If tranferring a Million dollars in cash was simple, the mob would not have to be laundering money.

Interesting way to avoid being hassled ?
About 20 miles south of where I live, there are many rich people who don't have a problem saying NO to people who have their hand out.
Some people here must believe lottery winners are the only rich people . There are hundreds of 100 + acre farms within 15 miles where I live and I don't see a line of people waiting for handouts. One of the obvious problems with new found wealth is some of those people didn't know how to handle their finances before they won. I doubt Abraham Shakespeare even

Remaining anonymous
The posters clamoring to remain anonymous reminded me of the workers at our UNION factory who were opposed to joining.
I always told them if they objected to the .......Terms and Conditions.........of their employment, why did they apply for employment?
Same is true for lottery players.
Why in the world would you play the lottery if you strongly object to the ........Terms and Conditions.......?

Lottery subscriptions
If I can buy a lottery ticket when I visit a state ....legally.
Why then limit mobile sales or online subscription to residents. The technology is there to geolocate where you are at the time of purchase if the requirement is for you to be physically within the state.
I think it might actually increase revenue of it where possible.....I would certainly be visiting the anonymous states far more often

Remaining anonymous
To paraphrase Johnny Burnette
Dreamin'...you're @!$*^ !' dreamin'
Seriously though states that allow winners to remain anonymous don't seem to have problems with it, Neither does the UK, Australia, and others.

Indiana winner
I knew it was going to be hit. Those numbers actually looked pretty good. Once again how do you know it was someone on here?
You don't know who it was and even if it was someone on here they won't mention anything.
Search engines not mine but google trace it. Whoever it is remains anonymous until they decide to come forward if they wish.

Pa. couple claimed $121.6 million Powerball jackpot on ticket purchased in Delaware
Smart ! Buying tix in Delaware and remaining anonymous.
Take note here, the ticket was bought in Selbyville...closer to the Maryland border in lower-slower Delaware.
About as far away from PA. as you can get in Delaware !
