If you had 10 bucks to bet...
First, we have to calculate the Probability of M - matching numbers from P - played quantity in D drawn quantity within an N - Numbers pool. Below is a diagram of how this looks graphically. M is how many individual combination numbers played match the drawn numbers. P is how many numbers you are playing per combination. D is the quantity of numbers being selected for a draw. N is the quantity of numbered balls in the bin for the drawing. The probability of matching is, where C(?, ?)

N.C. lottery ticket worth $1 million expires Wednesday
people who buy tickets, and don't ever hold onto them to check to see if it could be a big winner, make me sad for what may happen my worst nitemare thro is if someone wins a jackpot like mm or pb, and Never claims it, then they say for mm/pb it goes back to all the states for them to do whatever i don't think that's fair to all the people who played during them draws for their jackpot prize pool to go to the states, the amount should just be added back into the current jackpot prize

Predictions for LP for 2010 - NOT number predictions, things you see coming.
Hi, Coin Toss! Are office pools illegal? Would it be illegal if 9 other people joined with me and paid an equal amount to buy 100 combinations for a particular drawing? This kind of activity goes on all the time all over the country. I've never heard that any of the pool players that hit a jackpot game were later arrested. I think it might be illegal if I charged fellow players more than the cost of a single ticket. Would it be different if the 9 other people are in differen

Pick-3 for Dummies Thursday 01/28/2010
Let me give you more information on my Daily Numbers Simulated Pool. Today we have four numbers as picks of the day. They are contained in lines 2-5 of the Pick-3 combinations. One to two of the picks we like to come out in the Mid-day str8 and the Evening str8, these numbers we like to play by using my Magic Wheel to get a good hit. Check the Predictions Boards here at the Lottery Post for those picks for the Mid-day game. As you will see we like that 6-0-9 pick to hit str8, so we wheeled

Brainstorming using Smart Luck Advantage Plus
Hi Everyone, First off I want to thank you Perdue for starting this thread. I've been a user of GH's advantage plus software for many years now and had always hoped for someplace to brainstorm with other users. I even suggested this to GH on her website a long time ago but to no avail. Anyhow, what I'd like to say is that with all the stuff going on here in this post, there really aren't many strategies coming forth about how the info is being used to select the all im

Are there limits to the amount one can win on a drawing
I got this off USAmega. I heard there is a limit on the jackpot size. Is that true? While there is technically no limit on the size to which the Powerball jackpot can grow, there is a slow-down mechanism that kicks in when the jackpot reaches record heights. We don't know why the Multi-State Lottery Association decided to implement it, but we'll explain how it works. Whenever the Powerball jackpot reaches a record level, the amount of the jackpot prize is limited to increases for each d

Mega Millions lottery jackpot rolls to $120 million
As soon as the drawing takes place, the winning ticket is worth the amount of the winnings. Anything you do with ownership after that moment is subject to the gift tax laws. Only one person will have physically purchased a lottery ticket. The IRS will expect that any ownership other than that of the one individual will need to be proven and that any transfer between people happened before, not after, the drawing to avoid gift taxes. When millions of dollars in tax revenue are at stake, the I
