Cash or annuity ?
I would definitely take cash over annuity. I do understand and think yours is a very good point Wet Dog. But taking cash is the only way to go for me. The truth is no one really knows how the world economy is going to work in 20 or 30 years. Anything could happen and the annuity money you get just wont be enough (i know its highly unlikely but its possible). In todays insecure world, anyone can die any day. I would rather have control over the winnings myself and invest it.Hey if i'm suppos

The probability it will have one winner is 11%, two winners, 0.6%, and three winners, 0.3%Good luck!I think there is an

Lottery winner waited 50 weeks to pick up $30 million
Good thing Canadian jackpots are ALWAYS lump-sum...some states pay annuity-only if the ticket holder waits more than 60 days.

blew the money
That's a funny question a winner who has nothing to show for it.Do you mean a winners who won and then squandered every penny of it including the things they bought with the money they won. Probably every state that has a lottery has one or more of these occurrencesOr do you mean winners who have spent all the money didn't invest wisely or only have material things left, having spent all of the money.Or people who kept some for general principal and donated the rest to charity.Every state that h

Probability of a rollover in PB and MM
Reflecting on Lottobuddy's comments, I have decided to slightly change the way I calculate progected sales, relying solely on the cash value changes projected by the lottery. These changes should be overall minor. The MegaMillions jackpot on 3/9/04 has rolled over from 13 million annuity dollars to 20 million annuity dollars. The cash value has risen from 7.8 million to 12.1 million a rise of 4.3 million. This means the lottery is projecting 13.6 million sales for this draw: This translate
