Do you think that it will be possible for the PB Jackpot Winner to ...
True, it is possible that there will be more then one winner. It is also possible that there will be no winner in tonight's draw and we will see the PB Jackpot rollover to over $1Billion! Anything is possible.
My question still remains: With the jackpot at record breaking level, is it possible for a sole winner (if there is one), to remain anonymous?
I don't think so.

$675 MILLION: POWERBALL SETS ALL-TIME LOTTERY JACKPOT RECORD
...and you're lucky your state allows for anonymous winners.
Just bought mine, even used my OttoLball to pick one set of numbers.
I agree, it will jump up again and again, loving it.

Powerball Jackpot - Best States In Which To Play
Thanks for that!
If I win a lottery, can I remain anonymous?
We will honor requests for anonymity from winners. However, we certainly hope winners will allow us to share their names and good news with other players.

$400 MILLION: Powerball jackpot surges on rollover
I don't know about Gloria, but I do know the Idaho Lottery often announces on their Facebook page that there's a 100K winner in the lobby right now. I wonder if the Florida Lottery tweets or facebooks it too?
Florida and Idaho are not anonymous states. I don't think they consider it mishandling anything to announce it to the world that the winner is there.
When Brad Duke won here, they said he ducked out the back door and dashed to the car to try to avoid the media. That was before social

$400 MILLION: Powerball jackpot surges on rollover
There has been enough grief among winners of amounts way under $1B. I don't think anyone who wins $1B could hide it unless in an anonymous state, and then maybe.
But letting all the world know - so to speak- you won $1B (of you could avoid it) would be a very bad move.
On TLC's TLCML there have been plenty of horror stories from winners - long lost relatives, former employees, etc....putting the bite on them. One guy in New Mexico was getting sacks of mail every day and one mooch asked him

Are we at the mercy of the store owners and cheating clerks when it comes to scratch of tickets ?
Is there a reason neither you nor this former employee reported it to the lottery?
You cannot be up in arms about a lottery seller doing something probably illegal and definitely unethical and not do anything about it. It puts you and your friend on the same level as this scammer. We aren't just at the mercy of amoral lottery sellers. We're also at the mercy of those who see or know about these activities and do nothing. It costs nothing to make an anonymous report to the lottery office but

Is South Carolina Truly Anonymous?
It is but must specifically be requested. It is not 'advertised' because they prefer to have the winners plastered all over the media sites... it is a great promotion. Remember though, due to lottery winners being paid with state funds, there are steps one could take through the freedom of information act to force the reveal of an anonymous claim. For that reason I think it may be wise to request anonymity and claim through a trust. It would be nice to see the proposed bill go through keeping wi

Does this hold weight in court?
I'm not saying anyone would. I just posed a hypothetical situation. I wouldn't put it pass someone to try to make that kind of claim in court. People can pretty much sue you for anything. I don't see how either of those statments didn't make sense. Some states require you to participate in a press conference. Some don't; but some winners choose to participate or aren't informed about their options. Solomon Jackson, a SC winner, went public when he could've stayed anonymous. Jonathan Vargas, anot

Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
I am down almost $2,000 in just one month. I could of bought my brother a car, he is in college and doesn't have one. This is the worst thing that is hurting, what I could of done with that cash. I've been in stores and seen $5,000 wins, $1000 wins, etc. These people who win are frequent players. But I cannot afford to be. I am still working, got myself the night owl shift but I'll take it considering my recent losses. I would like to help someone else who might be in my spot or recently started

Are you ready for the attention?
Humor this. We finally achieve the billion dollar Powerball jackpot. Do you really want to be the sole winner? Are you ready for the media attention? You're pretty much going to be forced in to the 'A' list club. I believe if there's only one winner, there's going to be a lot of social pressure to make the winner known to the public. Anonymity will go out the window even in an anonymous state. In fact, it'd probably better to willingly come forward to protect other jackpot winner's anonymity. Th
