The poster above me, the poster below me...
This is a game some people play on other boards, so let's do a lottery or an LP version. Above me and below me mean before and after a post.
Have fun.
Here's a start -
The poster below me has played the same Pick 3 number for four years even though an audit three years ago proved that only seven out of the ten numbers were in the bowl!

Bill would allow N.C. lottery winners to remain anonymous
Anonymity is not going to hurt sales nor will it stop fraud. By the way, as few large jackpots that are won in individual states as there are, they can't tell me that an investigative/audit branch of that particular state, can't take a look at the records of the few winners each year for verification of a ticket by someone who is authorized to claim their winning.
Really ?? REALLLLY ???
Sorry Lottery Reps, that doesn't fly with this participant. Allow the option

Dozens of 'dead people' collected NJ lottery prizes last year
Good Joke Cointoss! Loved it!
Maybe it took the lottery that long to mail out the winnings that the person had done up and left this world?
Besides, there is no national(country) restriction on who can claim a prize whether they have a US social # or not, so that does need to be factor'd into the claims/audit.

Player sues Oregon Lottery, charging video poker game rigged
If the feature recommended the best playing strategies, then what would be the point in having players choose their hand? Seems pretty obvious IMO.
The deviation from payout also isn't significant. And if it is incorrect, all it would take is a simple machine audit from the game board to determine what the payout was set at. How will he prove the payouts are off? You would need to play and record many thousands of hands to prove a statistical deviation.
The plaintiff is a business consulta

What's The Clerk do with YOUR winning Ticket after you Cash it?
Clarance got away with it due to technicalities. First, the state made an error in calculation. Clarance walked away with a whopping $25,000. The state thought it was in the millions (boy did they look stupid). Second, the state's auditors didn't review enough of his records to substantiate their assumptions (being a 10%-er). They thought that they could audit a few and that would be enough evidence (they were lazy). That is it. So the win in court by Clarance was a fluke and wouldn't be a prece

Illinois to fire private lottery operator
Well, I guess I wouldn't know because Illinois does not share lottery financial details or at least I can't find it like you can with a few other states... independent audit reports etc.
The data I've seen with other states clearly showed that scratchers dominated their profits by a huge margin vs. the draw games.
The house advantage I was referring to is when they close a scratcher game out with a disproportionate amount of top tier prizes remaining.
I understand why and that's a huge

11 more retailers suspended by Florida Lottery
Yep, their hands are definitely dirty. They want all that extra revenue from clerks/owners playing and are reluctant to give it up.
And remember how all this started. Not from their own internal audit or the goodness of their heart, but by an investigative story by the Palm Beach Post. This is all a reaction to the negative publicity of that story. They can negate this in the future by allowing all winners to claim anonymously. That way the pesky nosey newspapers can't go around doing investi

Can Lottery Ball Machines Cheat - Be RIGGED ?
Can Lottery Ball Machines Cheat - Be RIGGED ?
NO. I believe them when they say that they audit the balls and weigh them and the draw room is under high surveilance blah blah blah
What concerns me is the number of pre draws. Are they consistent in every draw? If not, what is it that they are looking for?

Wisconsin lottery auditors don't like branded scratch games
The Wisconsin Lottery is raking in record profits and that in turn benefits taxpayers.
That was a key selling point when the lottery was approved, that some of the gambling sales would go to reduce property taxes.
But state auditors think taxpayers could benefit even more.
If you have an itch to play the lottery, the Wisconsin Lottery has a dizzying array of games to choose from. But the state's audit bureau says games requiring a licensing fee are not a good gamble for the state.
