Illinois Lottery mulling changes to drawings
When MM went to the 75 number matrix I said I was going to swear off of it but now I think I trust MM and PB much more than the Illinois draw games.
When we did get the drawings on WGNA (Downstate we're on national feed (as someone here pointed out) there were plenty of times that the machine malfunctioned and there was a notice on the screen:
Due to technical difficulties the results will be shown later on in the broadcast.
Northstar cares more about promoting the lottery and marketing

Illinois Lottery mulling changes to drawings
The NJ Lottery broadcasts its evening drawings live on TV, and all drawings are broadcast live on the Internet. No computerized drawings here. Maybe that's why the games continue to be so popular in the state.
I disagree with you about the probability that moving to computerized drawings would not harm sales in Illinois. Computerized drawings are horrendous, and many people (including myself) are far less inclined to play when they are used. Perhaps you are not aware that Indiana switched fro

What was your take on the show "Lucky 7"
ABC Cancels Lucky 7 After Only 2 Episodes:
The ABC series Lucky 7 has been officially canceled and is the first casualty of the 2013-14 broadcast season.
The new series had kicked off last week and had a very underwhelming number in the ratings, which dropped even lower for the second episode.

Twelve things not to do if you win the lottery
I've always wondered about this... they say you should sign the ticket right away... what if you formed a blind trust or LLC (not sure if I''ve got the terminology right).
But anyway... the intent would be to not broadcast yourself as the winner (anonymity).
Shouldn't the name of the trust be on ticket vs your name in that case? Probably mixing a bunch of stuff up here.

More or less inclined to play MM/PB if the numbers were picked by a Random Computer Generator?
That's a good point, but I participated in many reverse raffles and the usual format was each number was placed into a capsule and drawn one at a time. It took over an hour with just 100 entries. Some of these lottery raffles have 250,000 entries and over 1000 different prize winners so it would be difficult and time consuming if the same method was used.
While they were ball drawings, up until last year Kentucky's midday Pick-3 and Pick-4 drawings were not a live broadcast. Last year because

Should State Lotteries be privatized ?
I just saw an ad against Chris Christhie on NJ State Lottery privatization. We are a union family but in the case of the NJ Lottery, I feel a private business can run it better. First they took away the live broadcast of the drawings and only after a very public revolt did they bring it back. Then those scratch off jackpot prizes showing up on liquor stores and newspaper (adult) stores makes me wary of their methods.
Then there was this State employee who was bragging how Wawa was exploring s

Kansas woman has big prize taken away after it was awarded
Actually Seattlejohn, I believe even The Three Stooges could have pulled off a much classier outcome than these buffoons.
Only a box of rocks could screw up, humiliate and disappoint one of their own dedicated lottery players.
And even after this train wreck was publicly broadcast, they continued to stick their heads in the sand.
If this were a private company, heads would be rolling by now.

$640 MILLION: MEGA MANIA!
No I wouldn't say I have lotto fever since all those who wake up tomorrow with busted dreams and worthless pieces of paper are going to need to go see a doctor if they indeed have lotto fever.
Of course, I hope to win tonight, but I didn't break the bank in my attempt to do so. I am not going to watch the drawing unless the numbers are broadcast to me telepathically, I won't know if I won until I check tomorrow morning.
Good luck me. Good luck to my immediate family that played some numb

Is Illinois Lottery genuinely random?
hurley1333,
You seem to be seeing something that isn't there.
The drawings are broadcast on WGN-TV (within the state, some of us far from Chicago don't always get them though). It's ping pong balls, not a RNG.
Think of a Pick 3 as three columns of the numbers 0 throuh 9. Not that far fetched for any digit or digits to repeat with a 10 number field to draw from.
