Michigans New Game, Winfall?
Bradly: IMHO the new Change Play needs changing rather than Michigan Millions. I saw months ago that MI was looking for a different kind of jackpot game. One idea discussed was that a jackpot would be capped and that excess prize money would be added to lower tier prize(s). The name Winfall actually hints at this concept. Michigan Roll Down works in a similar way.

3/6 in PA Super-6 paid only $1.50
Ohio is starting to offer a free quick-pick for players who match 3 of 6 in their SuperLottoPlus game, changing the odds of winning something from 1:451 to 1:54. With MegaMillions and PowerBall having odds of 1:40 of better of get $2 back with each play, players are losing interest in playing the state games.RJOh

Is the Ohio 6/49 Lotto already hurting?
I suggested last week that Ohio remove one number from the game (6/48 instead of 6/49), stop drawing the bonus ball , pay $3 for a three number match, change the 4-of-6 and 5-of-6 prizes to pari-mutuel (with the average prize for either category roughly the same as the current fixed prizes), and, changing the jackpot to ALL CASH, so that the Ohio Lottery would stop cheating cash-option winners out of their full prize (44% vs 53-54% in Mega Millions).

Keep the name BigGameLottery.com?
Thanks to mark, RJOh, and billyloco for weighing in on the issue. I thought I'd put the topic out there on its own thread to get anyone else's thoughts as well. With the game changing to Mega Millions next week, should I keep the domain name biggamelottery.com or look for a different name?If you have any thoughts, maybe you can share them. I'm leaning towards keeping the name as-is, but a little discussion wouldn't hurt.Thanks!-Todd

Hi Todd
Hi Greg,I hear what you're saying, and I respect your opinion, but I remember hearing similar comments when the original Big Game came out. I agree that the states would never do anything if they wouldn't make more money at it. I just think that lotteries will continue to evolve to meet the changing needs and expectations of the players.-Todd

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
I think what winoneday meant was that it was bad luck for the house. In the long run, the average jackpot won will equal the expected value. In a game like this, a drawing every few days with odds of 1 in 300 million, the long run could be many years. In a short period of time, the players can be lucky which means the house (MUSL) is unlucky. Unlike other games like pick 3 or any table game or slot machine in a casino, where more jackpots are good for business because the long run for th

lottery groups
Well, that's debatable. Personally, I don't believe the best way to get into any lottery drawing is with a group. The draw of the lottery, especially a game like Powerball, is winning a massive pile of life-changing cash. Getting into a group with perhaps dozens of others takes away the risk/reward ratio that Powerball offers. Really, if I wanted to have better odds of winning a smaller prize (think less than $5 million), I would play my in-state Cash 5 game. I don't need to worry about the

Wit and Wisdom of old lottery players...
Good post cottoneyedjoe. I guess I would consider myself an Old Lottery Player . Been playing since the 1980's. Came close to a jackpot in Ohio's lotto getting 5 out of 6, in a game that was a 6/40 (?) game with much better odds than we see in today's games. Of course, close only counts in Horseshoes and hand grenades. I've tried all kinds of strategies and ideas over the years, like many others. While many might disagree, I have come to believe that with today's games and the odds t

Smart Luck Gold Software
After I buy the program I hear about a 'bug' in the software. I hope they can fix it with a software update download for people that have already bought SL. I am also like you ... I like to check games to see what set of numbers have hit more than once in a game. It doesn't mean much I guess with a game since there are many changes made over the years ... like changing lottery balls every so often, installing newer lottery machines with a different size chamber and air speed and direction.
