Powerball sucks
The wisdom within the Powerball compound has a misconception about lottery players. Though they are right in the aspect of ultra high jackpots bringing people out of the woodwork to play, they have ignored how the jackpots get to those levels in the first place. It is the players who play every drawing, regardless of jackpot amount. These players are the heart of the system. Without them the lottery would not survive. How are they summarized by the lottery? Obviously as dim witted, uneducated, p

Texas Gov. tells Lottery to stop exploring gambling expansion
Commentary: It is silly the governor even made an issue of this, let alone wrote a letter about it to the committee. Why shouldn't Texas Lottery officials keep up-to-date on successful operations in other states? In fact, I believe they would be derelict of their duty if they did not.
There would be several hurdles to overcome if the Texas Lottery wanted to add new types of gambling, so it's not like their visit and exploration of different types of gambling would force any changes to happen,

l play 2 lines for PB, that's it. $4.00 is my limit ever since they changed the matrix from maybe winning a little something here there to forget about it!
My $$$ go toward this statement In 1984, Proposition 37 amended the California Constitution to authorize the establishment of a State-wide lottery. As an initiative statute, the California State Lottery Act of 1984 created the California State Lottery Commission and gave it broad powers to oversee the operations of a State-wide lottery.

N.C. Lottery looking for new HQ as revenues grow
They need more space so they an figure out more ways to get even MORE $$ from the NC players pockets and not in a Necessarily honest way.
Doubled business in less than 10 years?, they are doing something right as their profits have been on the upside every year over year. States are getting just downright greedy with lotteries everyday to fuel their need/want to get more ca$h from your pockets. You have to keep a close eye on your local lottery and watch for Irregular patterns/tip-offs lik

Scenario: Your Boss,BF/GF is riding your tail big time when suddenly. ..
I handle millions of dollars on a daily basis and am crucial to day to day operations at work, so I probably would not call in sick. That would tip everyone off because I am too reliable
I think I would 'ease into' making plans for claiming etc. Would probably open a safe deposit box right away, make copies of everything etc. I do not want to claim the cash and not have a plan. As soon as the dough hits my bank account I would want to know exactly when and what it will be used for.

Oklahoma Scratch-Off restrictions
Why Oklahoma scratch-offs only goes to $5 for $40,000.00 this is the reply and the OLC wonders why sales are down.
We have a legislative restriction that mandates 35 cents of every dollar sold goes to our Oklahoma Education beneficiary. That restriction limits the amount of money we have left for operations and prizes. We could increase the payout of our $5 games but in doing so, we would reduce the amount of money allocated to smaller prizes within the game thus reducing the number of winn

Kentucky Lottery keeps an eye on frequent winners
While I do realize some people do not like the fact that state lottery's are mining the data, the fact of the matter is the data is their PROPERTY. Therefore, they can do whatever they want with it, and they don't have to tell a soul what they're doing with it. They certainly don't have to justify their actions to anyone.
They're involved with taxpayer money, having transparency in their operations will make them less scrutinized. Trying to bring in an excuse like the computer and phone at wo

Ohio Lottery investigating frequent winners
The state lotteries could make it even more difficult to cash winning tickets, but difficulty is probably why some players are selling their winning tickets.
In Ohio claims of $600-$5000 only require a local retailer verify the winning ticket and a claim form be filled out and notarized before being taken to a local bank to collect the winnings. I'm sure discounters aren't buying tickets that haven't been verified so the only reason for winners to use them is to avoid legal obligations and th

Travel by Missouri Lottery employees under scrutiny
In my opinion I have found the Missouri Lottery probably one of the best run operations of most states. They seem to have one of the highest payouts on pick 3 and pick 4. They seem to come up with new games for the public. I see nothing wrong with attending other events to learn and pick up new ideas or whatever.
There adminastrative expense were in line.... I think you all look for something to complain about. The only thing i would like to see Missouri do is go back to the blown balls for t

Just a FYI with Bitcoin-based online dice games. Canada recently announced new regulations regarding Bitcoin use. As a result, Canadian online Bitcoin dice sites are shutting down operations as they will not be in compliance with the new laws. While the shutdown may be temporary, they are suggesting customers to withdraw all their coins. I wouldn't be surprised if other countries move forward with similar regulations. Three months ago the IRS announced Bitcoin will be treated as property.
