Seriously, do you REALLY wanna go public?!
i agree. I don't live in a lottery state so it probably wouldn't be that hard to keep it a secret. To begin with I would tell no one, except my husband. I would just pay off my house and quit my job. I work from home so no one would really know that I quit unless they outright asked. Never would I buy an escalade or something flashy; expensive cars make you a target for theft. If that didn't work and people did find out out I would move to another state, buy a nice house in a nice neighborhood t

Lottery retailers busted in raid
As the manager of a gas station that sells lottery tickets -- I would offer the following simple advice -- always ask for your tickets back. That way, if you think someone is trying to scam you, you can take it somewhere else to get it double checked.
Its policy where i work, that we hand back all non-winning tickets, and as far as im aware, we have never had issues with employee theft so to put it.

Lottery System for trade!
I'm sorry that you feel that way. I know what places he sold the system, because his testimonials were screen shots of his ebay messages, and the messages showed what country the ebay corp. was in. I also do not think it is theft, it is called trading information, if i go and take a tia chi class, then teach my neighbor what i have learned, that is not left. If i buy a signed copy of madonna's picture and photo copy and trade it to my friend his his signed copy of brad pitt, that is not stealing

Went public too soon?
I think that reason alone is enough reason to hide, at least until you claim it. You never know what someone else would do. It's a sick world. Imagine showing the ticket to a group of people and someone snatches it and tries to run off with it. Even if you've signed it or run after them, they might end up tearing it up and throwing it into the air because they don't want you to have it. No more ticket to claim your prize. You certainly aren't going to get that money by suing the person who took

Contractors steal $70,000 in lottery prize money
It's important to note that the crime was stealing tickets, not manipulating the drawings. People are always at risk of falling prey to corruption, which is why Lotteries work so hard on security. It was probably an internal security investigation that discovered and stopped the theiving.
It's the human element. When the payoffs are high, there will always be someone willing to take the risk. Having ball drawings alone isn't any extra protection from would-be thieves. Multiple layers

Clerk tricks lotto winner, pockets money
A man who went to a 7-Eleven in Roseville, Calif., to check on his lottery tickets had picked the right numbers, but state officials said it was the clerk who almost hit the jackpot.
The female clerk told the customer he won $4 on his Mega Millions picks for Aug. 14, and then pocketed his winning ticket worth $555,000, California Lottery officials said.
However, the clerk's alleged scheme fell apart after the unnamed victim became suspicious and called lottery officials.
