Race and the lottery
All l am going to say is this: Just as the winning lottery ticket could be either a self pick or a Quick Pick- the vending machine or convenience store clerk does not look at the person handing over their play slip and press a button that says If player is White- press *1-.... If Black, Asian, Hispanic or other- press *2.. BEFORE sending the play slip through the machine. That's my final answer and l am standing by it....

Georgia Lottery Scratch Offs
I swear I will give this up for good one day! Dabbled a little today and had a decent day. Bagged these below. Different stores of course. 100X was the 1st ticket out of a vending machine. Same QT machine I snagged the $500 Cash Spectacular a few weeks ago. The Cash Spectacular win took a little work. Played the last two off a roll then played the first one off the next roll and got this $500, ticket #000.

Georgia Lottery Scratch Offs
Had to pickup dinner last night and needed to play cash 3 and cash 4. There were several stores near where I was going but I couldn't decide which one since I thought maybe I will buy a ticket or 2. Ultimately I decided on a QT because I typically don't buy tickets from there which is what I am trying not to do. I filled out my ticket and proceeded to the machine as they have one of those full serve vending machines. Well I wanted to play 2222 and 4444 in cash 4 but they were sold out. So with t

The Lottery Machine Ate My Ten
I've had troubles with the vending machines, too. I sometimes buy a lottery ticket or scratchers from a machine in a grocery store when I'm there; it was located right by the bathrooms near the exit. One time I had put in $20 bucks and got my lottery tickets, intending to spend the rest on scratch tickets. I chose one and let it dispense, then was checking the display to see the balance and I heard a whirring and watched the amount decrease...and again and again. I looked down to see a kid about

Man vs Machine, which do you prefer?
A machine will still have video cameras, and possibly a voice simulator. Vending machines already malfunction as it is, so I'd hate to be in front of the machine when it says: You have 20 seconds to comply.

Man vs Machine, which do you prefer?
Lottery players, myself included, have had good and bad interactions with people who have to punch our numbers. Recently, I have seen steady progress in Lottery vending machines in casinos and some stores like Wawa and locations such as the Port Authority terminal. Their designs and functionality are getting better and surely, more improvements are coming soon. I dislike the machines because I cannot talk to them. People on the other hand, may have good and bad days, and when you catch them o

It seems like I have to continue to fight the urge to buy scratch tickets
They don't tempt me at all when I buy my draw tickets from a clerk. But when I'm at a vending machine, they do call to me. The problem comes when I don't have $1 dollar bills, and stick in a $5 or heaven forbid a $10. I usually only must-have a couple dollars worth of draw tickets for that night's drawing, then the other $2 or $3 is sitting in the machine and must be used up cuz they don't give change. I SHOULD buy tickets for the other draw game the next night, but sometimes my finger hits a

Why is it that when checking your losing lottery tickets- the machine always says " Sorry"?
I've seen both messages, Sorry, not a winner and Not a winner on the same scanner so it might depend on the game. We have self serve vending machines and a losing ticket will show a red box, but if the ticket was previously scanned and paid, the red box will have a line through it. I thought it would be funny if the message said Did you really think we would pay twice? . For winning tickets, there is an option to add the credits, but only tickets can be purchased with the credits so if you do

Playing every ticket from a machine.
Anytime you come out ahead with scratch tickets is a good day! But what you did is what would be called standard play which is just buying a few tickets each of the few games you like to play. It is similar to what I do and others as well most of the time, but it is not taking the vending machine challenge. The challenge involves some significant risk, buying 1 and only 1 ticket from every bin of a machine, forcing you to play even games you don't like and would never play. It makes no sen
