Indiana Lottery finds $13,000 mistake
This error occurred when the vendor entered an incorrect draw date identification number, a lottery news release said Wednesday.
I'm a little confused. When I buy a ticket for any lottery game, isn't the ticket always for the next draw unless I buy some advanced play tickets?
I guess vendor isn't the same as retailer? So they are saying that you might have won something, but the number was programmed for a different draw date? This is a little over my head technologically.

In my dream ...help
Ghosts
A ghost may represent something that is gone but not forgotten-or something that is almost forgotten but that you simply cannot release.
The appearance of deceased relatives usually tells of unresolved issues. In these cases, you should pay particular attention to the surroundings, the other characters present, and any unique aspects of the apparition
Dogs
Dogs can be great friends or frightening adversaries. In dreams, the friendly dog may be a representation of a trustworth

Should PB MM be tax-free/lump sum
AuntiPat is correct about reducing the tax burden. I've studied this and it doesn't matter how you claim your prize...Trust...LLC or otherwise I can't see a way to significently reduce the Federal Tax burden unless you form a charitable trust and then you loose control of most of the money.
I too have heard the stories about lotteries promoting charitable donations as a way to reduce the tax burden. But I never understood why they would do that. Being the cynic that I am I always believ

Largest Texas Lottery jackpot claimed by trust
The winners of the largest Mega Millions jackpot ever won on a ticket sold in Texas have stepped forward to collect their prize money.
A partnership calling itself the H H Trust of Dallas claimed the $128 million jackpot from the July 6 drawing on the multistate game, the Texas Lottery Commission says.
We were daydreaming about winning the lottery and taking some time off, one member of the trust, which collected its winnings July 18, said in a news release provided by the commission.

Hoosier Lottery News release 11/17/2006
2006 has been an incredible year for Hoosier Lotto players around the state. Most recently, a representative for the 2006 Stewardship Revocable Trust claimed an $11 million jackpot from the September 16th Hoosier Lotto drawing. That winning ticket was purchased in Bloomington. Prior to that, a group of nine co-workers at the Delphi Plant in Anderson won a $9 million Hoosier Lotto jackpot on July 1. In April, two life-long friends from Louisville, KY,

if you found a winning ticket that wasn't yours
people will come out of the woodwork to claim a prize
Pac, one of the things we talk about on the board, which is always encouraged, is posting the winning ticket online. I expect to get some negative responses, because we'd all like to see a million dollar winner here, but I would hesitate to do that because of people like Ms Battle. First, unless the ticket is altered, i.e., covering the bar code and important identifying numbers, you are giving out information not available to the

Do you feel bad when you realize you didn't win?
I voted None of the above
I agree with the last part of the first option, When is it my turn?
But in lottery, we all hope to win, sure, but expecting to win is an entirely different thing.
If you study about endorphins and such, when peole are doing something they truly enjoy, there's an endorphin release in the body, like good chemicals are produced and kick in.
When they are aggravated, bad chemicals actually get released and over time can produce ulcers and much worse.

Why the sudden concern with anonymity ?
If you go to the Powerball website and research it as I said, here it is verbatim:
CAN I REMAIN ANONYMOUS WHEN I HIT THE JACKPOT? All but three states (DE, KS, ND) have laws that require the lottery to release the name and city of residence to anyone who asks. One state (SC) will keep your name secret if you request it, but if someone files a Freedom of Information Act request, you may have to file a plea with the judge to deny it. Photos and press conferences are always up to you.

Why the sudden concern with anonymity ?
You need to do more research on where you can play PB and remain anonymous:
All but three states (DE, KS, ND) have laws that require the lottery to release the name and city of residence to anyone who asks.
And who on earth cares who I am, or who anyone else is ? ... I know what you are trying to get at: if I'm so gung-ho on not remaining anonymous, then why am I anonymous on here...... nice try, but you are comparing apples to oranges. If the rules on LP were that a person HAD to use

Does $9 goof point to larger problems with Ontario Lottery?
I wish to make two points.
First in reference to the question why does the retailer not simply scan the ticket to determine it is a winner. The procedure for redeeming a scratch ticket in Ontario is a two step process. First the retailer scans the tickets then is prompted by the terminal to enter the 4 digit code that appears under the latex. The 4 digit code must correspond to the scanned code (long code). For this code to be entered in error and also match the scanned code and come up a win
