Wild Thought, Lottery Post Having a Convention?
This idea of a convention comes up every so often. People here can't agree on quick picks vs self picks, cash option vs annuity, and holding or not holding a news conference if given the choice (anonymous if allowed, or not). You think they'd agree on a location for such a convention?

CA Lottery - California Love - CA Lottery Scratchers
Yes that is correct, the breakdown by Jon D (a big contributor in the past) was done by obtaining the list of winners from the CA Lottery (this is public information) and using geoplotting. Not sure about the total sales by retailers is public information, I know that would interest you the most. Every big jackpot winner's name will be revealed by the laws of this state, no anonymous claiming. I do not think I ever got a chance to run into a representative, I have seen the CALottery van a

What state will win the Mega Millions jackpot
Not a bad plan, haymaker....... I'm not sure what the rule is on an out of state person winning in an anonymous state, but I love this from the Del. lottery site: More states need to do it.

How soon would you come forward to claim your jackpot winnings: should you win?
noise-gate, Thanks for the compliment, but someone here at LP quite a while ago had the idea of hitting a jackpot when it went back down to the start point and the person who hit it before that hadn't came forward yet, I just tweaked it a little. Scratch$, Your plan would only work in the four anonymous states. Also your bank may not want an influx of tens of millions or more cash on hand. , some of the rules change and bank examiners start camping out at the bank then.

Illinois to fire private lottery operator
It would be nice if we had a choice in that advertising (aka anonymous). Its all about making more money and since most people don't pay attention to the odds (arguably), the state/private corps will continue to squeeze the player anyway they can. Look at the profits on scratchers... the ultimate cash cow for state lotteries... those games have a huge advantage for the house . Even the most shady casino corps would blush at that sort of game and its legal too.

Does anyone miss Jackpot fever?
It's probably a lot better to hit a jackpot that isn't getting national attention than one that is. You'd still get hounded anyway but hopefully wouldn't get 'relatives' you never knew you had from faraway states putting the bite on you. Of course if you live in one of the few states that allows you to remain anonymous it wouldn't matter. As much.
