How to win the lottery (happily)
I'm happy I got the choice to stay anonymous in my country.
I remember a lotto winner several years ago who appeared in gossip magazines and newspapers.
He also came in contact with bad people. Didn't go well for him. He became an alcoholic and died.

11 more retailers suspended by Florida Lottery
It's amazing how nobody working for the Florida state lottery figured out these store owners are buying winning tickets valued of $600 from players wanting to remain anonymous. It goes back to 2005 for some of these owners and if it's not legal and/or against lottery rules, they should have stopped it years ago.
Fort Pierce gas station owner Vipul Shukla has cashed in tickets 149 times, collecting $323,000, since 2006. He previously told The Post that he'd been cashing in tickets for others,

Just a curiosity.. would you tell your family if you won the lottery?
Immediate family or distant relatives? Strange question if it's the former...but then again, I don't know the dynamics of your personal famiily situation, so....
I live in Texas, so there's no anonymous claiming. The place where the winning ticket was sold is posted on the website. Don't you think a newspaper, be it in my small town or even Dallas or Houston would (easily) find out who won the JP if it was in that town/city and publish the information, same for the TV news? They'd want an

Neil Trotter the latest Euromillions Jackpot winner of $178m Tax Free
The chance of being anonymous is okay but I'd much rather have the US governement make the lottery winnings completely tax free like in Europe and in Canada.
But with the US federal debt at $17 trillion and growing, it's not going to happen.

Remaining anonymous lottery winners in WA state.
Can I remain anonymous if I claim by establishing a trust?
As a public agency, all documents held by Washington's Lottery are subject to the Public Records Act. Lottery prizes may be claimed in the name of a legally formed entity, such as a trust. However, in the event of a public records request, the documents forming the artificial entity may be released, thereby revealing the individual names of winners.

Ohio Classics is $60.7 Million. If you opt for the lump sum, you walk away with about $21 million after taxes I will take that any day of the week :)
I live in Wisconsin, my wife's family lives in Michigan so when visit in May 2014 I will make a stop at the nearest Ohio border gas station to buy 10 lines for 10 draws for the Classic Lotto game. It's sound crazy driving another 1 and a half hour to OH just to buy Classic

Just don't get it
This right here is a perfect example of why lottery winners should have the option to remain anonymous. Even when the game is transparent, and the winner's name published and verified, people still want to claim it's rigged. If a verified name and legitimate identity isn't enough then nothing is. Let the winners avoid death plots and kidnapping threats. If you all are determined to believe it's a scam anyway then you can still believe that and nobody's life is put in unnecessary danger. Win win.

Post your scratch ticket results
The clerk should not be asking for a tip. The clerk should be afraid to even ask for one because they are probably violating lottery rules, and or, the store's policy.
Even if there is no rule against asking, personally find it a bit unethical to ask.
Often think, if a big amount was won, an anonymous tip from the winner is appropiate, if they feel so inclined. And no one should feel that they are owed a tip for doing their job. But that's just my opinion.

Do we really want all states to be able to claim anonymously
they shouldnt be anonymous so we know it was an actual person and not some lottery commissioner or their family member
But how do you know that still isn't the case unless you know the winners announced? If folks pick up and leave town, change their name and number how do you know they were indeed legit winners by merely seeing a picture, location and name?
Why can't a person opt to have a lawyer validate the winner. A lawyer would be representing that they are validating and repre
