Announcing Winners to the public?
There are threads here that discuss forming trusts and having your attorney claim the prize at the lottery office. I'm new, so I can't post links, but one thread is in the News section. There are comments to the article about Pennsylvania's attempt to make that state an anonymous state where winners can choose to collect anonymously. That might provide you with some information to guide you in your research, but you'll likely need to consult an attorney for a definitive answer. I have the

who oversees the Mega Millions and Powerball
Hello, I'm new to the site, and before i came here I never thought about the lottery being fixed. The posts I've read here makes sense, and has me doubting the veracity of the lotteries. I also disagree with having anonymous winners, if you take the opportunity to play, you should have to accept the fact that people will know who you are. The lotteries are too easy to corrupt with no major oversight. The 1980 pennsylvania lotto scam is an example how it's possible to fix the lotteries. Anyone

Pa. lawmaker wants to give lottery winners right to remain anonymous
How can your trust win a lottery before your trust even exists? Only a legal entity that owns a lottery ticket at the time of the drawing can be a winner. Any entity that acquires a winning lottery ticket after it becomes a winning ticket is merely an owner. Even if you could remain anonymous by creating a trust, how much do you suppose a lawyer will charge to have their name and face substituted for yours? I wouldn't take the chance of having my business phone inundated with worthless calls,

Widow and daughter will split estate of poisoned $1 million lotto winner
Why do you people always say that????? Really??? Do you not already know that that there are ONLY 6 States that allows for winners to collect anonymously???? I hate when people get on this garbage about why did he/she/they let the public know. Just in case you're not aware, the ONLY states that allow anonymous claims are : Delaware, Kansas, Maryland, Ohio, South Carolina and North Dakota. I really can't understand why people still dont get this. And in some cases, some States REQUIRE a press con

Pa. lawmaker wants to give lottery winners right to remain anonymous
Right, so the trust really does little or no good in terms of anonymity. Which is the point. and, per Illinois---http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/news/nation/story/2012-04-22/lottery-winners-anonymous-mega-millions/54441676/1 Mike Lang, an Illinois Lottery spokesman, agrees and says winners in his state must come forward publicly unless there is a compelling reason not to.

Pa. lawmaker wants to give lottery winners right to remain anonymous
Well, see, that's the problem right there. The rules and procedures are messed up. If you lived in Texas that wouldn't happen: http://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/article/Trust-keeps-24-million-jackpot-winner-anonymous-3848371.php

Are there any advantages to NOT being anonymous?
The only advantages to publicly claiming lottery winnings has been mentioned before, i.e., to prove to those who don't trust that the lottery is on the up and up that it is, and to stroke egos. Some public winners I've seen have seemed quite thrilled at the limelight. Good for them. That wouldn't be me. I'd have an escape plan as soon as I did my duty in front of the press. I've heard enough horror stories to know I'd not want to be known as a lottery winner. One of the worst was with that poor

What future Republican president would have the courage to write an executive order to totally ban a
I'm sure It won't be Chris Christie, Gov. of Jersey. He would'nt even sign a bill to make lottery winners anonymous for 1 year. So I doubt he gives a blink about fed taxes on winners.

What is your state daily Keno prize max payouts..
Winners stay anonymous if they don't want to get their name published in the newspapers. We get the count of winners for each payout but not the count of loosers.Eventually you get the count of tickets sold for some game. A complete report is missing everywhere. Some states give the numbers of the winning tickets, here you cannot get that.
