$1.1 BILLION: Powerball jackpot increased in longest-ever winless streak
@ShagE3 Yes, you'd have to establish residency in the new state - buy or rent a property, set up utilities with a billing record, transfer driver licence car rego etc etc - and this wouldn't be quick or cheap. Unless you had money lying around, you'd have to sell your place in the old state first, to fund the shift to the new state. 180 days would be doable, 90 days probably not. If you knew you were going to claim a huge prize, you could sell your current property on the cheap to facilitate a q

$1.1 BILLION: Powerball jackpot increased in longest-ever winless streak
Yes, that would be much simpler and fairer. Taxes should be built into the price of the ticket, although I understand each state has different taxes and you wouldn't have a flat ticket price. Let's be honest, unless you take the actual cash and stuff it in a mattress, the winnings will be spent or invested and thus taxed at every stage - profits, dividends, interest, stamp duties, sales taxes etc etc etc. Here in Australia our Powerball jackpots are obviously much lower given our population

Florida's Fantasy 5
Couldn't agree more if I had to. The thing I can't understand is how did The Florida Lottery benefit from adding a midday drawing? They said they were doing it for the players, but that's pure BS. No business does anything without something in it for themselves. I seriously doubt they saw an uptick in the amount of money they were taking in by adding the midday drawing. If anything, I think some players stopped playing Fantasy5 because of the hit to the size of jackpots. IMHO that lowers th

my idea for a multi-state lottery
My idea is to have a game that costs $1.00. The buy 5, get one free is similar to promotions that lotteries run, but make this a permanent part of the game. For those who don't mind spending $5 on a progressive draw game, they get an extra chance to win. $20 million isn't as much as hundreds of millions, but it's still life-changing. It's about the same as MM starting jackpot but without the absurdly low chances of winning. 1 in 18 million instead of 1 in 300 million. More frequent winners i

Colorado Lottery approves credit card purchases and online ticket sales
IDK about other states but here in Kentucky when I use my card (rarely) it only charges me the $10.00. I'd guess the lottery picks up the 1-2% service charge for the transaction. I never use my debit card. For the third year in a row GA lotto machines say 'coming soon debit/credit'. Found one machine so far that had been upgraded, however it didn't work. They also are VERY slow in upgrading their highway billboards. Only one that we saw had the million/billion jackpots electronic. All

People think gambling is risky.
I like numbers find their correlation to each other very, very interesting. Consequently, I play my state's lottery system. I'm not too interested in multi state lottery systems. I think sending hundreds of millions of dollars to 1 person is ridiculous will not participate (especially since I play in MD, and believe the lottery system determine where large jackpots go). I put my lottery budget on my Cash App card, limit myself to $50 per week, yes I have gone over I have won!

sums de patterns
By the way, my system gives me 1 to 5 numbers for each columns, and then I use 3 additional filters to get it down to 2 to 3 numbers for each column in a Pick 6 game. And I'm averaging 2 to 3 numbers right most of the time. Im due for a breakthrough any moment now to start hitting 4 to 5 numbers right, and the big bucks will start to roll in. I dont think about hitting jackpots right now. My focus is on the lowered tier prizes and keep building my game up. And when I filter my numbers, it's

Mega Millions jackpot closes in on $1 billion
Of course they will sell fewer tickets because of the higher price. That is a given. The real analysis is how fast the jackpot grows due to dollars spent. And in that regard, I'd say it's growing slower than before. Correct. Players are currently voting with their dollars with jackpots at levels we've seen in the past. But how will they vote with their dollars should MM set a new jackpot record? That's what we haven't seen yet. I think eventually that will happen, and it should be interesti

Dream
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYUC3cotVHA Too many articles that list the 70/30 on behalf of the QP 70% winners of jackpots are quick pick numbers. 30% are chosen numbers. Buy 2 tickets. 1 with a QP and 1 chosen. See how that works out

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Of course players want bigger non-jackpot prizes and bigger and faster growing jackpots, but that's not free. $5 is too much for this type of game. People also want $2,000 cars and $25,000 houses, but that's not going to happen either. Money doesn't grow on trees. People will not pay vastly more for a better version of what was a bad deal to begin with.
