Would you take less money to preserve your anonymity?
Yea, we live in the most heavily taxed state, lottery and otherwise, so I would agree to 1% or less. Hopefully its a moot point and we go anonymous, but have not heard if that purposal has passed. just like when they passed the law for the 10.8% state tax on lottery, in the middle of the night they're not making a lot of noise about it.

Would you take less money to preserve your anonymity?
The news story about the brothers who got caught trying to cash in a stolen scratch-off ticket worth $5 million has an interesting twist: They asked the New York Lottery if they could take less money in exchange for avoiding the required press conference and the publicity that surrounds it. Many LP members have been outspoken about their dislike of laws that mandate public disclosure of lottery winners, some of which go so far as to proscribe a press conference. This raises the obvious questi

Where in the world is ??
I miss Rip Snorter, St. Germain, and Justxploring. Justxploring had one heck of a sense of humor, she once posted about a jackpot winner of the future becoming famous by winning a lawsuit about their right to remain anonymous. She also talked about a scratcher player's doctor telling them they scratched so much they needed Lanacane! Rip Snorter's avatar for a while was a depiction of Sissyphus, how appropriate for a lottery board. Sisstphus, for those who don't know, was a character

N.J. Assembly panel clears one-year anonymity for lottery winners
I would believe that should the winner give their blessings for a media release. so be it. However, if the winner would like to remain anonymous, then the proposed law could be invoked and honored. One could probably still find out who the winner is, but some serious digging would be required (perhaps a real need to know would be needed?). As for a year passing and if no one was paying attention, that could be a real benefit for the winner too. Those that truly need to know would be the

N.J. Assembly panel clears one-year anonymity for lottery winners
Still, Assemblyman John Burzichelli (D-Gloucester), who sponsored the measure, said the information is all available through the Open Public Records Act. Depends on the state laws and this state has Open Public Records statutes. This bill simply closes this public record for one year. I'll bet if you look closely at the fine print on this bill you'll see the anonymity doesn't apply to owing back Federal and state taxes, warrants, court fines, and/or child support. I've noticed that state

"The winners are really actors" myth.
I wonder if you could hire a makeup artist to transform your appearence, so you still look like a regular person but you look nothing like yourself. Maybe video getting the makeup done and then have it played sped up for the lottery people so they understand why you don't look like your ID. You could have your face change shapes, different eye and hair color and maybe even undergo a full body spray to change skin. I think it would work well, since when people hear you're name and ask if

Where should the money go?
I think we are on the same page CT, that is what I was talking about. Say the game doesn't get hit for a while and the money starts rolling in due to the large JP. As soon as there is a real winner, the lottery just adds an extra winning ticket or two. They can make the (other) winners from the states that can remain anonymous or say the winner(s) set up a blind trust or the likes (for the states that can not hide). If they add two tickets they have kept 2/3 of the prize and potentially more. Be
