N.C. Lottery rolls out online ticket sales
You have to be in NC physically. I pulled this statement from the article: The subscription service comes with safeguards to ensure it meets requirements that no tickets are sold to anyone who is not physically in North Carolina or to anyone who is under 18, the legal age for playing the lottery.

Powerball winner dies penniless, 12 years after winning $27 million
My guess is taxes and drugs. He could have lost most of the stuff to the government due to having a lot to pay to taxes and no money to pay to the government due to both overspending on items (vehicles and art mostly) and addiction to drugs. Other items he could have sold in order to fuel his drug habit or to simply survive. In the article it also mentions he owed thousands to friends/family. It's that hard to believe someone with drug addiction and a wild spending habit could lose millions.

Would you move to a non income tax state if you won?
Somehow I can't shake the feeling that being a drug addicted jail bird was why David Edwards lost it all. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/unemployed-ex-con-turned-powerball-winner-dies-hospice-article-1.1536710 On the other hand, you can kill a man giving him all that drug and booze money all at once. At least he had a good ride before going over the cliff. BobP

Some players confused by new Michigan Lottery poker game
Andy Bekins of Party World happened to be at the Lottery counter when I walked in, and he explained the process and showed me how to play. Timeout for a second. Todd are you saying you were a Eyewitness in this article?

Lottery winner is sued by his sister
Greed, Greed, Greed, the article did state he shared some money with her. It did not say how much. But I'm sure it was a nice amount. She just wanted way more than he gave her. You know this is why it's not so good to agree vocally how if we win, or when I win, blah, blah, balh . What happens when you do actually win, you see all the money and make other plans. The greed and jealousy comes out in family members and/or friends.

What do you love most about Lottery Post?
Read the comments on the original article on when the woman almost fainted at the Rose Garden Ceremony yesterday during Obama's speech. The comments about Obama are on point and hysterically funny. They range from that is what happens when one stands near the Antichrist and other great ones. He was scheduled to speak inside a hotel by my work building 3-4 years ago and we all got memo relayed from the secret service saying that said we could not even look out the windows during a 1-2 hour per

7 state lotteries join forces for multi-state raffle
Curious if anyone has heard what the count is as far as how many one million dollar winners there'll be? I know it starts out with two and increases based on sales, but I had read an article somewhere stating that state lottery websites would be keeping a tally on their sites, but I haven't been able to locate one. Ohio's site didn't have the total listed last time I checked. I purchased a ticket this morning and the ticket number is a little higher than 58,600, and I'm sure that's just for Ohio

Be sure to check your tickets, because the state won't make any effort to find you if you win
According to the LP news article the story was sent out to news services, that's how it appeared here. The amount of the win, the date and location of it purchased were included in the story. Even if the winner read the story and brought a quick pick and lost it, they would have had a hard time proving they were the winner because they probably had no idea of what was on their ticket. If this case went as others I have read about, the main offices was flooded by people claiming to be the winn

Lottery winner sues advisors for poor policies
Remind me not to hire insurance salesmen as my financial advisors and then follow their suggestions blindly. I did a search of this guy and I found a single article about him frauding his two friends out of their share of the winnings. It kind of seems like karma got him. http://www.courthousenews.com/2010/11/12/31794.htm
