IDK why I would stop playing because you can claim your winnings anonymously ....... The Evil Greed of Envy is far too prevalent today, everyone is entitled to what belongs to someone else! I would love it if everyone had the option to be anonymous!!!!!!!!!

CDanaT, She COULD BE the sole winner if the male did purchase the ticket for her alone. True, that might be the case, but considering Maryland is a state that allows remaining anonymous why would she blab it to the rabbit ? Either way, whether she has the winning ticket or not she's an attention monger.

Whitaker was asking for it going to strip clubs and keeping hundreds of thousands dollars in the trunk of his car. I though the 20/20 special was pretty interesting, especially showing it with the record setting jackpot drawing coming up and a countdown clock until the drawing. On Friday when the jackpot was $290 million, someone won second prize $250k at the store I buy my tickets at. I have eight spare bucks so I'm going to buy one mega millions ticket at eight of my favorite lottery selling stores (there are tons of them here in new york). Hopefully there will be a dozen or so winners of the jackpot, one person getting $500 would be insane and we'd probably never see them unless the winner is in a state where you can't be anonymous. Wow, I really don't think anyone can say with absolute certainty. Perhaps use some of the old strategies to improve your odds. Keep your mouth shut! Probably not a good idea to tell anyone in the circle of family and friends, use extreme discression before telling the spouse. Claim by Revocable Living Trust if possible. I really love the idea about writing a book with letters to a lottery winner . I think it would do well. I would buy it. I have written a couple of art/academic type books (not in the category of the Hunger games by any means, but what is, but they are published by a real non-vanity publisher). You could include some followup research with the letter writers (i.e. check out their claims like this woman did and find out some interesting details...all names kept anonymous of course).
