Illinois to become first state to allow online lottery sales
Wouldn't it be nice if there were identify-protection-vehicles that could be put into place prior to purchasing online ( Hey kids! for 99$ a 50$ annual renewal, you too can have an anonymous trust formed for the express purpose of collecting your lottery wins... be sure you ask your parents for one today! )
It would be pricy for the casual player, but for those who are in it for the long haul ( in it to win it ) and play more than the ... 2 lines per game that I play ... it would be just a co

Mo. woman describes aftermath of lottery jackpot
From the OP,
But she's had to weigh those pluses against the minuses, like having to find new friends.
There have been discussion here on LP about would you remain anonymous, if you had the choice, and some said they would shout it from the roof tops. I wonder what they think after stories like this one.

Mo. woman describes aftermath of lottery jackpot
It's years too late for Sandra Hayes! However, future non-anonymous, net multi-million lottery jackpot winners -- after receiving their own lottery jackpot winnings -- can painlessly make out helpful $6K+ one-time Gift Checks and give to their five closest friends.
Probably most of those friends wouldn't be insulted, but rather thankful that their net multi-million jackpot winning friend was being a concerned and sharing financial friend to them. It is said that people of similar incomes and

6 New Episodes of The Lottery Changed My Life
thanks again,i'll have to dbl. check, but i think they're reruns, i wonder if they're having trouble finding new people for the show,

Lottery jackpots may get bigger
The jackpots will reach $200 quicker, more players will jump in, and the roll-overs will be much bigger. Less than 11,000 players won anything substantial (if $100 is considered substantial) and only 140 won $10,000 or more. The 2,766,599 winning tickets worth $14 or less will probably be spent buying tickets for future drawings.
It will be interesting to see if when a jackpot reaches $1/2 billion or even higher and then we can look forward to more how will you spend the money? topics and the

Connecticut lottery winners settle $1 million battle
Both Martins and Nascimento declined comment on the settlement. However, Nascimento's wife, Creuza, made it clear she was not happy with the outcome.
Had they gone to The Peoples Court we could have heard all the bleeps while Mrs. Nascimento was being interviewed.
At least now we know why so many people want to form trusts to remain anonymous.

$14.3 million Hot Lotto prize claim withdrawn
savagegoose,
I think you have posted before about the Australian lottery or an Australian lottery where the ticket price is $1.03 AUS, the $.03 takes care of the tax, and that remaining anonymous is no big deal.
Reading these threads about this Iowa Hot Lotto I think every lottery doirector in the US should go to Australia for some intensive training.

Representative of Hot Lotto winner named in lawsuit
The lottery office is always trying to find a reason not to pay out
I've only been to a lottery office once and they bent over backward answering all my questions. Do you have an actual example when a lottery office refused to pay your legitimate winnings?
i feel like all states should be anonymous.
And then you'll probably say there was no winner and the lottery office is keeping all the money. Here's a suggestion, if you don't like the rules don't play.

Iowa Lottery security chief to grill NY lawyer over Hot Lotto ticket
Here in Australia its not really anonymous . the ticket has NFP[] (not for publication) on the back where you fill out name and address details. i didnt think it was anonymity was what people wanted it was just not to be famous. as long as the public dont know who you are most woudnt Care if the lotto officials knew or not?
well i always thought that
I also think the lotto people want ot see if the person on the video buying the ticket is still alive

Iowa Lottery security chief bent on determining identity of jackpot winner
You know I find this comment quite remarkable along with those induivuals that are of the same school of thought as well. We would all for the most part want to remain ANONYMOUS but can you imagine the conspiracy theories that would be spawn if people kept winning and 100 million losers not have a name or face to put to those winners???? Over time the game would lose credibility.
I don't sweat the small stuff. When it comes to POWERBALL my only concern is WINNING. Take out taxes, have yo
