Iowa Lottery security chief bent on determining identity of jackpot winner
This compares to trying to put together a complicated tax return at 6 PM on April 15 and have it post marked and in the mail before midnight. I have no problem with winners wanting to remain anonymous and/or forming trusts, but some states have laws where back ground checks must be made for delinquent taxes and child support before the check can be issued. Does Iowa run a check on the 76 year-old lawyer from NY who signed the ticket but claims he's not the owner or can they demand the identit

$50M Lotto winner a no-show for celebration
There should be some kind of way out of the publicity, some option to remain anonymous - kind of like a plea bargain. Something like you don't have to have your name released if you agree to eat nothing but Taco Bell for a month. I don't think many people would go for that though. And there would be too many suicides by those who did.

Winners Right To Anonymity
But dont you know the rules/laws before playing? If you dont agree or don't want to use a work around method of staying anonymous, then dont play!! Sorry, but I dont think we need anymore government laws . Just play them in their own game and get a trust to claim....end of story

No bad... It was a rumor that the guys were fronting for one of their clients. I see on Lottery post that the story is now out: And last night the three wealthy bankers who came forward to claim a record Powerball jackpot were facing claims that they were not in fact the real winners. An anonymous man one of their clients is said to have actually purchased the ticket but came to the trio to avoid the 'hassle' of his name becoming public.

Minnesota Lottery tests Internet sales
Virginia Lottery lets you set up a subscription from their website (you have to have a checking account and instate mailing address - same as all the other state lotteries that I've seen offer subscriptions), but they only offer subscriptions for the Mega Millions and the Win For Life games. I have a subscription for each - and it's nice because I always know I have a shot at each of them. They send reminder emails out early enough that I can renew long before they run out. I wish they'd offer s

I Almost Won 30 Million Ten or So Years Ago
Ohhh wow I care that 4 ( all the same person ) is my enemy on here. Wow that has ruined my whole week knowing that a faceless, anonymous, bullying stanger does not like me, whaaaa how can I go on living knowing that. Sorry honey I do not care! And I only retaliated to you after you started in with me, if you notice I have not gone to any post you made, nor anyone else's for that matter and ranted on them and degraded them. I never start in with people online, I only will start in first with a pe

If you won the lottery what would you really do with the money?
I'd like to think I would be smart enough to listen to some good advisors. Claiming would be through a series of trusts, FLPs, and similar entities to make it as anonymous as possible. With a smaller jackpot, say less than $30m cash before taxes, I'd keep my job and buy rental properties for investment and income. I'd pay off family debts and pay for family vacations. Nothing spectacular or anything. With a good sized jackpot, I'd set up a charity foundation or trust and make it my job to
