Will debt ceiling be increased?
BTW Ridge, stop calling me a liberal. I'm not a liberal, conservative, right, left, ip, down, or anything in between. I only brought the opposite viewpoints to show everyone reading this thread that no one is free from corruption. All you Republicans who point fingers don't realize there are higher powers at work who eclipse anything the president does. He's just a puppet, and If you ask anyone on this site who knows what I've written for countless years regarding this, I don't have any party pr

Atheist converts after mock prayer to win $1M lottery is answered
RL thinks because I condone offshore gambling, it makes me some bad guy who's not upholding the laws of this land. You're indoctination was successful also....poor RL...
I love this country and wouldn't want to live anywhere else, but not every law is just. One of the main reasons they don't like offshore is because they want a piece of the pie, which is all good and dandy, but firstly, they don't provide the true pay scale like the offshore 90% payout. I'd be glad to pay tax on 90%, but the

Missouri Senate to discuss privatizing state lottery
As I mentioned before, I am not stating a preference for or against privatization. I was responding to the first comment in this thread that implied that private companies are somehow inherently underhanded and/or corrupt, and that the government could somehow produce better returns to the state.
I'm sure the private companies vying for the contract will prove to the state how they will produce good/better returns to the state. After all, that's what they did in Illinois to win the contract t

Miami Heat + Orlando Magic (FLA Lottery $5)
Anyone else not surprised by this ?
The lottery KNOWS darn well where and when they send their jacpots tickets. They might not know the exact store ( well probably do as I read that Indiana corruption story ) but you would have to be foolish to think they dont know the vicinity of where the jackpots are.

Do U Spend More Than $500 A Week On Lottery !!
Yes, only once though. But 80 bucks ain't worth winning on a triple box. Winning only 80 bucks, I decide to never play triples again. It just isn't worth it.
Too bad Florida doesn't allow people to play triples straight. I smell corruption.....

Idaho Lottery's $1 million raffle almost sold out
I hope you are right Todd, but I have my doubts. I checked last years Rhode Island raffle on the RI lottery website and there is no pic or even a mentioning of who won last years drawing. And I noticed that the 1 million dollar winning ticket(there was only one million dollar prize) was one of the last 5000 sold. So if they were going to buy them up, it would be last remaining tickets. It seems suspicious to me. It would be nice to find out who won through some source, if not from the lottery it

Why do People Play the Lottery? To Win Money: NOT Fund Good Causes!
The main reasons are availability, no skill is required to play, players have little or no fear of corruption, and gamblers can wager small amounts. People play despite the low payout compared to other forms of gambling. However, playing the lottery is a cheap way to have an opportunity of winning big dollars and becoming a celebrity.
