Advantage Gold
Yes that is true, Gail Howard is an old topic here, but many people are still trying to get it right. I did read one of the previous threads, and the person from monkeybutt was very knowledgable. There is still one more thread I would like to go through, to make sure what I have truly is novel. I agree with you that the old algorithm was dysfunctional. I think one of the problems with the algorithm is that it appears that different chart had differnt predictions and therefore there was not one o

Texas legislature to consider lottery winner anonymity bill
CDanaT, excellent response. I was going to reply on pretty much the same points, so I'm really glad someone else gets how false both the fraud argument and lawsuit rights are. People seem to be under the misconception that just because winners aren't pimped out to the media that the lottery will stop doing due diligence when it comes to combating stolen tickets and other cases of fraud. As for the lawsuit scenario, it doesn't hold water. If someone injures you, you're given a judgement b

How is this not a massive fraud by the Florida Lottery?
I am not going to start a non-profit to combat this. The governor of Florida is a crook who bought his way to the last two elections and since his massive Medicaid/medicare fraud did not result in jail time and the state rewards slimeballs with elections to office, I have no faith that there is a single government entity that will pursue this matter. Florida is where every sex offender, crook, ex-con and carpetbagger run out of town on a rail somewhere else eventually ends up. It is the Wild Wes

So much for those big jackpots from Mega Millions LOL
I don't agree with or quite understand sfll, but that's partly because of the ESL issues. But food stamps/EBT can easily be abused, where they sell them for cash, which they can then use on booze, drugs, lottery, etc. It s a welfare fraud scheme costing U.S. taxpayers $750 million a year. People are illegally selling their electronic food stamp cards on Craigslist and other social media sites for cash. http://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2013/11/03/food-stamp-fraud-beneficiaries-illegally-

UK shopkeeper guilty of lottery fraud
A shopkeeper from Gravesend, a town in northwest Kent, England, has been found guilty of trying to con a lottery syndicate [pool] out of nearly 80,000 (US$120,000) in winnings. Imran Pervais, 26, misled the winning group into thinking they had won 10 when in fact they had scooped 79,887 after matching five balls and the bonus ball. He was convicted by a jury at Maidstone crown court of fraud by false representation following a two-day trial and he will be sentenced at a later date. Dete

My idea of minimizing lottery fraud
What if every time you buy a a ticket, you have to slide in your ID to a machine and the machine will automatically print your name, address and whatnot on the back of the ticket? Only those whose name is printed on the back of ticket can claim the prize. This will prevent slimy clerks to take advantage of less savvy players. It will also prevent anyone else to cash in your ticket if you lost it or if yours is stolen. An added advantage is the lottery can help you automatically track
